U.S. Congressman For Alabama’s Second Congressional District

Enjoyed giving the Washington Update to the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce. We talked about my work to bring federal funding to the area and our shared priorities to strengthen the local economy and support small businesses in our area. (Photo Credits: Montgomery Chamber of Commerce)

The Tuskegee Airmen are some of the most heroic and trailblazing soldiers that our nation has ever had. Their legacy deserves to be preserved and celebrated, which is why I introduced a bipartisan bill to establish a Tuskegee Airmen Memorial in Washington, DC.

Saddened to hear of the loss of two U.S. soldiers in Jordan, and praying for the safe return of the missing soldier. I stand in support of our men and women who are on the frontlines of this war, but this conflict needs to end now, so no more of our troops are killed or injured.

Today, I hosted a roundtable in Macon County to hear directly from local farmers and agriculture community leaders about the challenges they’re facing and to discuss what actions Congress can take to support our producers in the county and throughout the Second District.

Tuskegee University opened its doors on July 4, 1881. For nearly a century and half, Tuskegee has been one of our state and nation’s premier HBCUs, educating generations of professionals - including the heroic Tuskegee Airmen - and ensuring high-quality education is available to all Alabamians.

Had a great time at the Phenix City Mayor’s Ball this past weekend to support scholarship opportunities for local students and the work of nonprofits and charities throughout the community. This is a great event put on by Phenix City Mayor Eddie Lowe that makes a huge impact for students!

Jackson Hospital provides critical care to the people in Montgomery and the surrounding counties. Failure of this hospital cannot be an option. I’m urging all parties involved to work toward a long-term solution to ensure my constituents can continue to get the care they need.

I was happy to welcome Gracie Niolet, the Second District’s 2026 Congressional Art Competition winner, to DC! Gracie’s artwork will be displayed in the Capitol for the next year along with winners from all across the country. Congrats, Gracie!
