As we continue to fight for those who served, @senjackyrosen.govpeeps.us and I will always center the voices of Nevada’s veterans. The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act took steps in the right direction to improve access to stable housing and homeownership, but even one unhoused veteran is too many.

Rep. AOC & I toured the Culinary Health Center in #NV04 with leadership and workers from @culinary226.bsky.social This union-negotiated healthcare model is an example of what we’re fighting for, and proof that NV can lead the way to improve access to high-quality, affordable care for working people
I started this morning talking to the future leaders of Nevada at the 5th Annual Young Women’s Leadership Conference. This conference brings students and professionals together to network and learn from each other. I know our future is bright because of these leaders.
Congratulations to Lieutenant Colonel Colin A. Blount, who assumed command of the 726th Operations Group, Detachment 1, at Creech Air Force Base. Thank you for your leadership and service.
I joined military families at Nellis Air Force Base’s trunk-or-treat and car show. Nellis AFB is a focal point for advanced combat aviation training. I’m grateful for the active-duty men and women who serve our country, the families who support them, and our veterans who strengthen #NV04 every day.
Today we celebrate the chefs and kitchen workers who make Nevada’s restaurants world class. They deserve more than applause. That’s why I’m fighting for the TIPS Act and for good-paying jobs that let hospitality workers build a real future for their families. #InternationalChefsDay
$441 million. That’s how much Trump’s immigration agenda could cost Nevada’s economy by the end of this year. These are workers with legal permission to work in our hospitals, hotels, and construction sites. Stripping their status doesn’t make Nevada safer. It makes us poorer.

The Trump administration has blocked at least $4.4 million for Nevada’s national parks, putting flood warning systems, wildlife conservation, and critical maintenance at risk. Our public lands are part of Nevada’s heritage and economy. We must protect them, not defund them.

Nevada built the gold standard for regulated gaming: strict oversight, consumer protections, and good union jobs. Prediction markets are trying to skip all of it by calling bets “contracts.” I’m fighting to make sure the same rules apply to everyone.
Nevada families are already struggling with high costs, and now borrowing is getting more expensive. Higher interest rates mean bigger bills for mortgages, car loans, and credit cards, all while small businesses face higher costs. We need an economy that works for working families.
US consumers and businesses are now facing a future of more expensive borrowing • Nevada Current

Social Security recipients could see a 3.5% cost-of-living increase in 2027, averaging about $71 more per month. But with groceries, housing, and health care costs continuing to rise, that increase may not go far. Our seniors deserve retirement security and financial stability.
Social Security cost-of-living adjustment for 2027 may be above average. Some say it's not enough
The Social Security Administration is expected to announce the cost-of-living adjustment for 2027. Projections point to a higher-than-average increase.

Nevada’s economy is already hurting. Now, a new report estimates Trump’s immigration policies could cost our state $441 million by year’s end and leave 15,000 people without legal protections. These policies are hurting our economy and Nevada families. We must do better.

#NV04 is now home to North Las Vegas Fire Department’s first training center. Proud to see NLV continue to lead the way in workforce development training
I joined Commissioner Tick Segerblom, Assemblywoman Shea Backus, and Native Voters Alliance at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign to celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day. This day is about reaffirming our commitment to Nevada’s Native people and Tribal communities.
Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day to the Tribal nations and Native communities across Nevada. Honoring them means more than recognition. It means respecting sovereignty and investing in health care, education, water, and infrastructure.
Three years after the horrific October 7 terrorist attacks, we remember the lives taken, the families forever changed, and all those still carrying unimaginable grief. May the memories of those lost be a blessing, and may we continue working toward lasting peace and security.
National Night Out connects the community with law enforcement to strengthen trust and public safety. Thank you to the brave men and women of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and North Las Vegas Police Department who run towards danger when others seek shelter.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This month, we honor the survivors, remember the lives lost, and stand with the individuals and families navigating a breast cancer diagnosis.
I joined survivors, families, first responders, and members of our Las Vegas community as we broke ground on the Forever One Memorial. I’m grateful to everyone who has worked to make this memorial possible and ensure future generations never forget. Forever One. Forever Vegas Strong.
Congratulations to Dr. Sandra Richtermeyer, Nevada State University’s new president. NSU has grown and expanded throughout the years, including a new campus coming to North Las Vegas. I’m excited to see NSU’s continued success under President Richtermeyer’s leadership.
Celebrated the graduates from the U.S.VETS transitional housing program. No veteran who served and protected our country should have to experience homelessness. Orgs like U.S.VETS provide programs and services that are essential for so many veterans in our community transitioning into civilian life.
I joined Commissioner William McCurdy II to light up the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, and to celebrate the Latino and Hispanic families, businesses, artists, activists, and community organizers who strengthen Nevada everyday.
I joined the Moapa Band of Paiutes and Arevon to celebrate the Moapa Solar Project’s 10-year anniversary and recognize the people who made this project possible. Tribal communities continue to play an important role in Nevada’s energy future and I look forward to seeing what the next chapter brings.
Washington Republicans’ OBBB changed the gambling tax deduction and will force players to pay taxes on money they’ve LOST. We must reverse this unfair tax that is hurting Nevada's economy, and we’re one step closer to getting it done now that our bill has passed out of committee in the House.
My FULL HOUSE Act is about bringing fairness back to our tax code. You should never be taxed on income you never actually received. Read my full statement here:
Congratulations to Brooke Wheatley, the 2027 Nevada State Teacher of the Year. Brooke is a CCSD teacher at Valley High School and will represent Nevada at CCSSO’s upcoming National Teacher of the Year Program.
To all those observing Yom Kippur in Nevada and across the country, I wish you a meaningful day of reflection, prayer, and renewal. May this sacred time bring peace, forgiveness, clarity, and strength for the year ahead. G’mar Chatima Tova.
My FULL HOUSE Act is being marked up in the Ways and Means Committee this Wednesday, which means relief for Nevadans is one step closer. This unfair provision means you can be taxed on money you never actually received when gambling. It was wrong from the start, and now we’re fixing it.
Shana Tova to Jewish families across Nevada and around the world celebrating Rosh Hashanah. As the new year begins, may it bring good health, renewal, and peace to you and your loved ones. Wishing everyone observing a meaningful and joyful new year.
Twenty-five years later, September 11 still carries a different meaning for every American. Today, we carry forward the compassion, service, and shared purpose that brought us together in the face of tragedy. We honor. We remember. We serve. We will never forget.
Tameka Henry’s name has become synonymous with education here in Southern Nevada. And now, it’s memorialized on the Tameka S. Henry Acelero Learning Center. This well-deserved recognition is only one moment in her legacy still in the making.
