Oregon is experiencing the worst drought since 2022. That means above-average temperatures, below-average rainfall and snowpack and more fuel for potential wildfires. Stay alert this wildfire season, conserve water where you can and stay aware of conditions by signing up for statewide alerts.

Oregon drought grows, reaching most widespread level in 4 years

Warm conditions with a mixed precipitation outlook are likely to continue for months.

It was great to meet with the Mapleton Water District and talk about the investments needed to replace their aging infrastructure. I’ll keep fighting to bring federal dollars back to Oregon so Mapleton families have safe and reliable drinking water.

Thank you to Doug Lane for your relentless advocacy and for sharing your story. We’ll keep fighting to implement the strongest aviation safety requirements so that no family will have to go through what yours has.

The Night It Happened

I’ve decided to write a series of posts about my experience in the immediate aftermath of the collision. Revisiting this period is helpful to me, but reading about it may not be helpful to you. Feel f...

We all want our government to run efficiently and I will work with anyone to root out waste, fraud and abuse. DOGE catastrophically failed at that mission and cut critical investments to make our government work better for working people. Good riddance.

It’s been 17 years since the federal minimum wage last increased to $7.25. In Oregon, gas prices have gone up 93%, utility costs 81% and housing prices 107% in that time. Oregon has increased the minimum wage and met the moment, but the country hasn't. The American people can’t wait any longer.

We need to close every loophole that lets Members of Congress make money off of insider information. The Stop Insider Trading Act is not a serious attempt to do that. It's a backdoor attempt at disenfranchising voters and will still allow lawmakers to exploit loopholes they're saying they'll close.

This morning, the Budget Committee is marking up a partisan resolution that will give $60 billion to an agency that can’t even pass an audit. We must pass the No WAR Act to prevent this partisan process from being used to fund military action in Iran.

1/ It was great meeting with the Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA) to discuss the state of wildfire protection in Oregon, the importance of Secure Rural Schools funding to our communities and public lands and what we can do to work together to improve their infrastructure.

I stopped by the Linn-Benton Community College's Agricultural Center to check out the progress on their new arena, sheep barn, horse paddock and more. These improvements will provide enhanced, on-site learning opportunities and eliminate travel barriers for agricultural and animal science students.

It was great meeting with UCC’s Upward Bound TRIO program. TRIO gave me the support I needed when I was in school and now it supports over 12,000 students in Oregon. TRIO is an amazing program for first-generation and rural students to get the guidance they need on their way to college.

Republicans let enhanced ACA premium tax credits expire, driving up costs for families. In 2027, reports show Americans risk increases in health insurance premiums and 200,000 Oregonians could lose their health insurance. I’ll keep working to extend these tax credits & lower health insurance costs.

Obamacare premiums surged this year. A new analysis shows it's likely to happen again in 2027

A new analysis of early rate filings shows that Affordable Care Act insurers are proposing another year of double-digit premium increases.
