Every day, I hear from families who are struggling to keep up with rising energy bills. They shouldn't be forced to choose between keeping the lights on and putting food on the table. That's why I strongly oppose the proposed merger between NextEra Energy and Dominion Energy. (1/2)

I've fought for Head Start funding across the Seventh District. I'm proud that millions have been delivered, helping families that are working hard to get by. The Trump administration is cutting this critical funding. We should be expanding opportunities for families, not taking them away.

🚨My bipartisan bill to combat the rise of deadly nitazenes just advanced out of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.  This is an important step toward cracking down on these dangerous synthetic opioids.  I'll keep fighting to get this bill across the finish line and protect Virginia families.

#OTD in 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Medicare and Medicaid Act into law.   Today, these vital safety net programs are under attack.     I will continue fighting to protect and strengthen Medicare and Medicaid because every American deserves access to affordable, quality health care.

I’m proud that my team has returned over $8 MILLION in backlogged tax refunds, Social Security checks, VA benefits, and more to residents in the Seventh District.       If you are facing an issue with a federal agency, please reach out to my office. We are here to help!

I hear from veterans across the district who cannot get the care they need because of staffing shortages and delays at the Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center.   I’m leading legislation that would require the VA to publish monthly staffing and vacancy data for VA clinics.   Read more 👇

Private equity firms are buying up child care providers, hurting the quality and availability of care.    I joined Rep. Josh Riley in introducing a bill that would help ensure child care remains a lifeline for working families, rather than just another investment opportunity for Wall Street.

Today, the House passed a War Powers Resolution to end this unnecessary war. This conflict has already cost American blood and treasure, driven up costs for families here at home, and taken 18 American service members lives from us. Now the Senate must act. It's time to end this war.

18 American service members have now lost their lives in this Republican war of choice.   Hundreds more have been wounded.   Every day this war continues, more American families risk receiving the knock on the door that changes their lives forever.  Enough is enough. This war must end.

As a founding member of the Congressional Lowering Utility Bills Caucus, I know families are feeling the squeeze of rising utility bills.  I'm proud to co-sponsor the Energy Bills Relief Act to help lower costs, modernize our electric grid, and deploy more affordable energy.

NEXT WEEK: My constituent services team is hosting in-person office hours in both King George and Greene.    If you’re experiencing an issue with Social Security, Medicare, the VA, or another federal program, I hope you'll stop by. Check out the flyers below for location and time.

Since Republicans' war of choice began, Virginians have paid $1.8 billion more for gas — an average of more than $573 per household.  Working families are already stretched thin. They shouldn't have to pay the price for a war that never should have happened.  End this senseless war now.
