Why must so many appliances and eletronics have the most obnoxious beeping? We are programming these things, if they must make noise, can’t it be a lovely noise?! Laundry, dishes, contactless payments—these are not emergencies yet they beep like 5 alarm fires. Enough.

These sheep graze this beautiful field in Uppsala not far from my sister’s place as part of a city-farmer collab to improve soil. Recently shorn, they also provide wool. And they’re freakin’ adorable, so they also provide joy 💖
Just fantastic.
One of the most fascinating facts about the ocean, is that there are whales alive today who were born before Moby Dick was written. Some of the bowhead whales in the icy waters off of Alaska today are over 200 years old. Original post
Love is quieter than gunshots but there’s more of it. (Molly Rice)
I’ve noticed most comments (here and everywhere) tend to be “doom & gloom” which doesn’t actually help nor inspire. There’s a fight we can be part of to build a future we love. Here are some examples: www.dailyclimate.org/good-news/
About Me: - Live on a ⛵️ w/my hubby & 🐈⬛ - Artist & legal scholar, - Addicted to reading & coffee - Trying to live a slow, meaningful life - My 5th thesis = transforming law into a healing practice - Interests: regen gardens, climate justice, building a future we can love 💕
The IMF says we pay $5T/year to subsidize fossil fuels — that's $13M per MINUTE to destroy our future. Meanwhile solar & wind fight for scraps. We don't have a funding problem. We have a priority problem.
Free Air Con: hang a wet towel in an open window. The towel cools the breeze (if there is one) as it enters. It’s past time for cities to plant trees and create green spaces equitably! (Also those green spaces should double as food forests.) #heatwave #airconditioning #aircon
🌍 Climate change is a public health crisis—and an equity crisis. Dr. Rohan Radhakrishna of @CAPublicHealth shares how CA is partnering with vulnerable communities to build resilience. 🎥 Watch the full convo: youtu.be/bFfS6v6fVqM?... #ClimateHealth #PublicHealth #Equity #ClimateJustice

Glass beverage bottles used to be returned, sterilised, and refilled hundreds of times before needing to be made into a new glass bottle. A few nations continue this success despite beverage companies lobbying against it. We must bring back the glass bottle as standard. #plasticfreejuly
For #PlasticFreeJuly how about we stop producing plastic?! Support strong laws that make #polluterspay and stop plastic at the source.
"Farmers are always getting screwed, whether it's wheat or seaweed." This is why I'm creating both a nonprofit guide and a grassroots community guide that provide a holistic approach to restorative ocean communities; not just an ocean farm, a local network of resilience!
Having fun letting my #paintings inspire my free-hand #embroidery. Yes, I painted the cloth. . . #oceanart
How people answer this question dramatically impacts their capacity to envision sustainability efforts.
Everything in my personal life, my research, and my work experience has repeatedly confirmed that care is the fabric holding us, and society at large, together. Where have you seen this in your life or your work?
My mom and I are sharing these two paths to build your capacity to notice and direct your thoughts. We invite you to share the changes you notice after a month in one of our free workshops for women exploring leadership themes. . . #mindful #mindfulmonth #mindfulness #mindset #mindsetcoaching
Happy World Orca Day! (belated, it was yesterday). I discovered embroidery and am having so much fun. I was trying cross-stitch, but found it easier to think of the thread as lines, like drawing. So I'm free-handing it all. #oceanart #marineart #orca #whales #embroidery
What Does the Ocean Want Us to Grow? was my most popular #LCAW2026 webinar. I didn't answer the question; I helped build everyone's capacity to answer it for themselves because the only correct answers are place-based. New post on ecologies of scale v economies of scale. link in comments.
Imagine an "idealistic" future. Take a minute. Breathe. Now, who told you it's idealistic? Who told you we can't do that? What do they stand to gain from you thinking it's impossible? #sustainability #radicalimagination #futurisms

People often wait for the right tool, the ideal situation, yet these things rarely exist. Life is a practice, not a perfection.
My talk "What Does the Ocean Want Us to Grow?" at #LCAW is almost at capacity. I am so moved that people are hungry for this type of question, this type of tangible, systemic change that restores ecosystems and local culture. .. #UKsustainability #oceanart #marineart #biodiversity

The Balearic Islands will require all boat rentals to be 100% electric by 2030 as part of their climate efforts. I can't wait to get an outboard like this one for my own tender! I saw 3 companies offering electric outboards at this event in Portugal.
Increasingly convinced that the secret to "having it all" is actually having less.
Women don't need empowerment; we are already powerful. But we breathe differently together. The qualities society labels feminine and therefore dismisses (care, empathy, compassion, connection) are sophisticated leadership capacities that need room to breathe and I'm making that room at #LCAW2026
If it's not Nature-based, then it's not a solution.
50 miles offshore. Goggles on, knife in hand. Winds up to 14 knots, the boat bobbing in the swell. Sleep-deprived. Confidence, apparently, comes *after* you do the challenging thing. I was terrified to dive under the boat and cut the line off our propeller, but I emerged from that water changed.
