I attended an art talk last week where a discussion was held about recognizing art people create online as being just as valid as work recognized by formal institutions. I implore artists working online to document EVERY project you create. Get a journalist to write about it if you can.
New Arca album ‘XXXXX’ dropped a few days ago. Perfection. So good. Anyone who tells me that the only good music being made was the music they remember from high school is just lazy & is afraid of expanding their tastes. This is brilliant.
Have been working on a video about my process of making 3D materials & have visited some very beautiful places to gather more images. While editing it’s come to my attention that my fav faux fur coat makes me look like a Babadook that’s getting way too close to random dirt/rocks/sand/mushrooms.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I think that Willow (Smith) is incredibly talented. Media discourse tells me that she’s supposed to be egotistical & insufferable — but aren’t all musicians? These are complex compositions w/ plenty of earworms & solid lyrics. I’m enjoying this, actually.
Been editing the beginnings of a video about how I’ve been photographing & making 3D materials. I asked my wife (a photographer) to video me, photographing close ups of things. My concentrating face is legitimately terrifying & awful. Nobody should have to look at me concentrating plz no stop
It’s a 2 computers on a desk each across two ideas kind of day <3 Do a thing, hit render, while it renders, go hit the other idea on the other desk, hit render, return to the first one… I am having a lot of fun
Today, we came home to find a package in the centre of our driveway, looking like the large padded envelope was put through a whipper-snipper. Checked the cam. Have video evidence of a literal murder of crows sneaking up to the door, grabbing the envelope (which was medicine), & going nuts on it.

I am drunk on so much studio time. I am making textures. I am *ACTUALLY* learning blender. I have looked at some VRC worlds I always meant to look at & never had the time. I have listened to so new music. I have sculpted in VR & painted IRL. & I’m gonna do it again next week.

Pinch me. I think, with the exclusion of a couple of 1 hour meetings here and there, I have 10 days in the studio to be creative & do the best part of my job. Nobody move. All the grant applications are in. Nobody ask me anything.
Returned to an old idea for a new idea. The box of drawings & paintings I’ve been riffing on this idea had some some from all the way back in 2016. It’s rare you can see the development of an idea happening accidentally, or organically, but here we have it. 130+ drawings to digitize…

Went to see Backrooms for the 2nd time at the late showing tonight. Had the whole cinema to ourselves. At the end of the film, we stepped out into the hallway to find this! The very bored legend at the ticket desk must have done that to freak us out. Mission accomplished. Made my night!

I took my wife into a Backrooms map in VRChat after taking her to see the movie a wk ago. I just need to say that she literally ran off around a corner & abandoned me within the first 2 minutes w/ no strategy. I found her much later running at every wall to check the colliders. We are doomed.
