TR draws from scoping and bibliometric review and corpus methods to provide guidance for analyzing lexical and semantic overlap between definitions, evaluating collocates, and qualitatively coding a definition’s dimensions. We also provide scripts and a simple GUI for calculations.

Use of terms like “bilingual” might be defined differently across labs/researchers/publications. This poses a challenge when we try to understand and contextualize results to build theory. TR helps quantify terminological drift/variation to better understand the scope of a single term.
