If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If life gives you potatoes and you boil them, but forget you’re boiling them, make mashed potatoes. Or soup, maybe?

Manic pixie dream bloke. New in these parts. Old everywhere else.
Curry! Going to make a curry. Haven't made a curry since forever.
Fecking Sainsbury’s app now has sponsored results. Search honey and it pops some honey flavoured cereal bar at second place. We’re already spending a fortune with them every month and they pull this nonsense?
This was so good. Quite possibly film of the year. Walked in worried about the 2.5 hour runtime, walked out wishing for another 2.5 hours.

Sad news everyone. Our beloved friend the computer has now become a hated enemy
If the #totp crowd aren't watching the Pet Shop Boys programme, the current duet of Rent by Neil and Jake Shears is just incredible. I have tears in my eyes.
God help me, I’m getting urges to start Baldur’s Gate 3 again. Have done this at least twice but honestly it’s not my type of game and I never make it out of Act 1. But it looks so good…
Got the house to myself for two hours. Need a 90 min-ish movie recommendation fast. Got Prime, Mubi, Disney and I think Apple.
Argh, on the bus without my emotional support headphones.
Having to explain to an AI bot that no I’m really not going anywhere soon just to cancel a travel insurance policy. I’m not saying I won’t be using Staysure again, but I’ll sure as hell not be automatically using them like I have before.
Love all the photos of these. The folk that built them must be wondering if actually they’re installation artists now.

Watching The Orville lately, and later than everyone else. Enjoying it - I thought it was more of a Star Trek spoof and while there's elements of that, it's often just a decent Star Trek space-adventure with more laughs. Best of The Orville easily beats a weak Star Trek:SNW episode.

Really want to know what other people think about the TV show, but also terrified of spoilers.
Going to run a workshop on how to put relevant facts in headlines. Going to call it “The Lost Art of What’s Actually Happened” and charge £600 a day. Going to go bankrupt doing this, then it will be reported as “Local suffers problem” as nobody came to my workshop.
New favourite Wikipedia sentence. That ice skater is having a very weird day. Intense screaming. “Now hold your arms out” Screaming intensifies. “You’re losing your north-south orientation!”
I am seriously starting to think I need to phone hotels up and ask "If I am on the toilet and my partner is in bed, will she be able to see me?" Because she doesn't like it and frankly the novelty's worn off somewhat for me as well.
Doing all the fun things you do before booking a hotel these days. Seeing if the breakfast looks tasty. Checking it’s close to the train station but not too close to the train station. Forensically analysing photos of the room to see if for some ungodly reason the toilet walls are made of glass.
My theory is all a lot of voters want is good, competent, realistic decision making and implementation so they don’t have to spend all their time worrying that the sky is falling in.
I'm starting to think that new Inbetweeners movie has escaped containment.
One of the five men arrested near RAF Fairford called 999 himself
He made the call almost an hour before a farmer also called police after seeing men in balaclavas.

This is a thousand time true. Watched the first two episodes of S4 last night - was expecting it to be a weekly watch, but they've put all six on iPlayer. Those two episodes were... relentless. They've earned every minute of it though. This is a very real "Best TV Ever" contender for me.
Some of the best TV around. Well written, superbly written and acted with great characters. Worth checking out from the start if you haven’t watched it before. www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio...
Big fan of free updates/enhancements to games I already own. Got a decent amount of play from the Conan:Exiles one and now they've done the same for Witcher 3.
Every time I see "foreign actor" I'm thinking, like, who? Jean-Paul Belmondo? Russell Crowe? Wagner Moura? Or all three of them?
As part of the global response to the rise of AI, I am calling for a wholesale shift to serifed typefaces. Unserifed I's were never meant to be used like this.
"I'm not sure about the durability of the soul." Me too, shoe reviewing guy on Amazon. Me too.
Right, one more song of singing badly and loudly to Olivia Rodrigo and then it’s back to work.
I feel this deeply, the horror of moving from Tech is a force for good to abject Black Mirroresq horror over the last decade. Meanwhile:

Born '76. For most of my life, tech was fun. My dad renting a VHS player (yes, the player, plus tapes). ZX Spectrum. First email at university. A phone which was mobile. Dial-up internet. I used to photoblog from a SE W810i. All "cool, future is here" memories. This shite can fuck off though.

I'll go one better and name a film with TWO: Blow the Man Down, Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy. Fantastic tight 90 min black comedy crime thing, very nearly with an all-female cast. And the men that are in it are frankly not up to much. Currently on Prime if you have Prime.

Name a film with a female director: Near Dark - Kathryn Bigelow. Near perfect modern vampire western.
