Suspicions & Superstitions Working on a document in public—in a library, cafe, pub—is analogous to posting on social media. The ephemeral community appears to form a sizeable audience. But none-to-few of them discover what I'm working on. Approach to inquire. Care. And why should they? #Write

Idiotsyncrasies If I run my writing through a spellchecker, and it comes up with nothing, I never conclude that everything's on point. I assume, instead, that the spellchecker isn't working. So I'll add a letter to the beginning of a word and wait for it to be detected. #writingcommmunity #write

Suspicions & Superstitions The last great prejudice to be outed is the belief in uncommon intelligence. In genius residing in the individual. Genius is a position in spacetime. That someone currently occupies its coordinates is coincidental. Incidental. #Writer #writingcommmunity #writing

Suspicions & Superstitions: Genius: Unmaligning Motive Intelligence tests succeed in nosing out embryonic geniuses as often as psychologists do budding psychopaths. Why? Assessors cannot see the MMO for the MO. #Writer #writingcommmunity #writing #writings
Suspicions & Superstitions: Genius: Unmaligning Motive A crime is never solely the fault of the individual indicted. The offender was inspired, fired, coerced and rehearsed by others. So, too, the perpetrator of a deed of genius. #Writer #writingcommmunity #writing #amwriting #writerslife #write
Suspicions & Superstitions: Unmasking Motive The genius commits a work of art rather than a felony, but is often as delusional, narcissistic and ruthless as a sociopath. #Writer #writingcommmunity #writing #writings #philosophy #booksky #amwriting #writerslife #write
Suspicions & Superstitions: Unmasking Motive The parallel with transgression runs to the bone. Most crimes are pedestrian: a few are horribly extraordinary. Geniuses of the first rank are akin to serial killers. There are many murderers, but few Dahmers. Even fewer Shipmans. #Writer

Suspicions & Superstitions: Unmasking Motive Like sexual endeavour, creative enterprise cannot progress on means and opportunity alone. The genius must also possess desire: motive. #Writer #writingcommmunity #writing #writings #philosophy #booksky #amwriting #writerslife #write

Suspicions & Superstitions: Unmasking Motive Geniuses aren't cleverer than the rest of us. What they own more of—to a superabundant extent—is motive. #Writer #writingcommmunity #writing #writings #philosophy #booksky #amwriting #writerslife #write #indieauthor #amwriting

Suspicions & Superstitions: Unmasking Motive A criminal act is a collision of means, motive and opportunity. So, too, a work of genius. #Writer #writingcommmunity #writing #writings #philosophy #booksky #amwriting #writerslife #write #indieauthor #amwriting
