Blackton and Hury reservoirs. Drained by design not drought. Built by the Stockton & Middlesbrough corporation to ensure a regular flow to the Tees in summer to supply the industry on Teesside. Now being refurbished as part of a new pipeline providing water to Teesside and Darlington

Took the little man up Skiddaw Little Man today. We were aiming for the main summit but was blowing a v wet gale on the top. He wasn't impressed, so we bailed on trying the final ridge. And here are some high Lake stiles for you @lakesstiles.bsky.social. The one he's posing at is at 825m

Took a 75 mile ride out to #Hartlepool yesterday. I'd only ever been once before to the football ground 30 odd years ago. Theres some good stuff there, but it's hidden and poorly signed which is a definite shame

The old Friarage Manor House. Built after the dissolution on the friary site it has served various functions including hospital and work house. I got this info from Google afterwards as it's just sitting boarded up and with no signs anywhere that I could findAt the end of the headland is this canon brought back from Sebastopol after the Crimean War. It's next to the interesting looking Heugh Battery Museum which I didn't stop at but will return to. It looks interesting but again, I stumbled upon it without any obvious signage towards itThere are some lovely looking old parts around the harbour. There could be a great little walking tour to visit them The tall ship outside the town museum. I think you can get to it quite easily be car, but it didn't seem easy on foot/bike. This was as close as I could get
