Breaking: CoreCivic has announced they've sold the 1,600 bed Prairie Correctional Facility in Appleton, Minn., to the U.S. through the Department of Homeland Security for $495.6 million. CoreCivic will still manage the facility, which is expected to start receiving ICE detainees this fall.

Nobody wants predictive data models to stop working for the people in medicine. Or translating ancient Pompeii texts. Or the other ways we were already using it. We want it to stop replacing workers, killing the environment, and stealing from artists. Hope that clarifies.

Recently had an epiphany that I grew up hearing Republicans telling me that the Democratic party was a bunch of communists and socialists. And I thought "Sounds awesome. Sign me up." But it turns out the Republicans were lying (shocking) and the Democratic party wasn't socialist at all.
