Rigore! Podcast

@rigorepod.bsky.social

A weekly podcast from two Scottish-Italian cousins who support Fiorentina and Venezia, taking an irreverent look at Italian football - and aiming some potshots at the traditional giants along the way! https://linktr.ee/rigore

And so, the end is here... In our final episode of the season we review the final round of games in Serie A and also look at the Serie B playoffs and playouts... It's been great covering a historic season for Venezia (less so for Fiorentina), and we will speak to you all in August! linktr.ee/rigore

If you wondered if things would change for Serie A clubs playing young Italians, it would appear not... Doumbia leaving was inevitable, but why aren't Inter, Roma, Milan buying him? I'm sure they'll bring in a mediocre Ligue 1 player or something though

Picture of a tweet from Nicolo Schira confirming Issa Doumbia is close to signing for Sporting Lisbon for €23m

We waited until after the Lecce-Fiorentina game to record this one. Was it worth it? No 😆 But come listen to use ramble about that, Inter walking away, the tense Serie B promotion race, and why wanting Italy to find a back door to the World Cup is wrong. Listen now: linktr.ee/rigore

This should ensure Malago and Abete don't get the position... Anyone that thinks Conte is the long term solution is deluded. He'd get us to the Euros, maybe even do well, but won't bring the changes we need. Source: Football Italia share.google/C57NpsLrzbjr...

Are Inter already champions? Certainly looks that way. Things aren't so clear at the bottom of Serie A, however, as Fiorentina scrape a vital win. In Serie B, Venezia continue at the top, but not without a few scares v Pescara. Plus, why are Serie A teams so poor in Europe? linktr.ee/rigore

This week we do that rarest of things (for us) - we praise Como (sort of...!) Plus, Fiorentina slip again, while Venezia can't stop scoring. And should Verratti come back for Italy? You know our answer, whatever it is, will be the wrong one! Listen now: linktr.ee/rigore

That result is one of the biggest embarrassments I can remember in 4 decades of supporting Italy. Gattuso is shit, but truth is we don't have enough good players, and that's down to years of neglect from the FIGC. I'd prefer us not to win the playoffs and see a proper revolution at the top #Azzurri
