I can't believe in an anime year that had Frieren season 2, Fate/Strange Fake, Akanebanashi, Witch Hat Atelier, and Ghost in the Shell, my three favorite anime of the year so far (Journal with Witch, Botan Kamiina, Draw This Then Die) are ones I'd never heard of before watching the first episode.

A better author could have actually explored Melfina's struggle between going with Harry, who is the only person who's ever cared for her as a person, or Gene, who doesn't give a shit about her but is useful for her motives. But I don't think the writers even realized this was the dilemma.
