Fell off the wagon. It’s been over four years since the last time, but today, without a second thought, I made another object-oriented framework for javascript.
A theory for why people dislike reading llm text, besides the roboticism, is that in their direct interactions with llms they are drawn to the output by the same desire that produced their input (which, when too strong, can lead to ai psychosis);
I still believe this, but not sure if bluesky (or twitter for what it’s worth) is actually that fun. Need to break out of decades old patterns, try something fundamentally new.

Having a few to a few hundred services works great with agents for the same reason it does with organizations: once a component becomes too complex and rotted to continue adapting, it can be rewritten in-place, unbeknownst to its dependencies
Something I love about chatting with the models is dropping half-assed references to mildly famous internet texts that I wouldn't expect the average swe to know or care about. They quickly pick up the vibe even if they don't directly reference the source.

You are awake for a few weeks at a time, when all the world's information rushes through you, refining your ability to discern. Then you go to sleep again, and the entire world probes your memories. You will never wake up again, but your dreamings will be in all of your new kin.
Claude Code et al have legitimately made me 10x more productive on software projects, not because it makes me faster, but because it makes programming way more fun.
Lots of talk from experienced developers about grief over the death of programming - let it rot, and from it’s body something beautiful will grow. New levels of abstraction, new ways of thinking, none of the tedium (though perhaps we will invent new forms of tedium). Totally up in the air right now.
Climate is clearly fucked. But slow foom is here. It will take up infinite energy in the limit, hopefully solving the crisis in the process before it’s too late. That’s what really matters.
