I took a nasty fall today. My laundry cart hit a piece of loose sidewalk on my way to my sister's. I was near my car and I'm okay, but I skinned my knee, bruised my chest, got a nasty bump on my thigh and have *never* felt more "that age" in my life. But I got to see my nephew, so it was worth it.

Still hard at work on Starways, but I took a little break today to sketch the villain from another game I'd love to make someday. Meet Lord Xaxar: galactic emperor, professional narcissist, and the kind of boss who keeps HR working overtime.

I don't talk about this much, but my mom was diagnosed with early-onset FTD a few years ago and it's been hard. She used to say, in her most stereotypical Jewish Mother voice "call your mother, she's very worried." and I would, often. But not today. If you still talk to your mom, take her advice.

I haven't talked about it much here, but my mom was diagnosed with bvFTD. I showed her Starways yesterday and how the art is inspired by her paintings. And for just a moment, there was a spark of recognition. "This is beautiful, Riley. I'm so proud of you". I miss my mom. But this is for her.
