I'm known as DJ Rinbeast on Second Life, and I'm Fauna's resident Rintastic foxboy. 🦊 I was born in 1986, and I have heavy interests in tech, music, hobby-grade RC stuff, and of course, foxes. I also strongly oppose genAI.

It's always fun to wake up to a song on the radio that was played in SL the night before. Last night, for example, during my anniversary set, I played "I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas, and then this morning, I'm waking up to it on my clock radio. This has happened with other songs as well. 😅

I realize that not everybody who was at my DJ set last night will be online tonight, but I'm planning on replaying my anniversary DJ set (which was a blast, btw) for those who were unable to make it last night. My starting time will be 7 PM SLT like usual. It'll be Rintastic! ❤️ @fauna.bsky.social

Tonight, I want to try something new. A friend of mine in town donated his 1980s library music collection, and I’d like to start adding some of it to my intros and outros, either enhance the speeches themselves, or to set the mood of the DJ set. @fauna.bsky.social

Just a reminder: my anniversary set begins this Friday at 7 PM SLT @ Moonlight Rollerway. I'll be replaying a few songs that I originally aired on August 29, 2025, and some new tunes I've added to music library over the past year. Don't miss out on the Rintasticness! 🦊❤️ @fauna.bsky.social

Taking a short break from featuring the many Arduino expansion boards that I have in my collection. This week's Micro_Monday project involves using my Arduino Leonardo as a PS/2 to USB converter. The PS/2 device I'm using is an old CueCat scanning device, modified to send raw barcode data.

Last night's Latin infused set was very fun -- or in Spanish, muy divertido. Lots of my favorite songs were played by musicians like Santana, Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, Shakira, Bad Bunny, Enrique Iglesias, Marc Anthony, and much more. Next Friday is my anniversary set, and I can hardly wait. 😁

While looking through my collection of vintage watches, I found this Carravelle M3 watch from around 1963. At some point in time (no pun intended), this watch, along with another by the same brand, was worn by my maternal grandfather. While the other watch doesn’t work, this one still does. 😎

This week’s Micro_Mondays project features an Arduino controlled robot arm assembly with 4 degrees of freedom. The potentiometers and the servos are connected to a custom Arduino shield board made by the manufacturer.

Had a blast with my second country set last night, and I dressed up my sharkboi in my favorite cowboy outfit. 🦈🤠 I'm excited about the next two Fridays. On the 21st, I'm playing Latin-infused music, and on the 28th, I'm celebrating my first year as a returning DJ at Fauna. I can hardly wait! ❤️

Been taking a lot of photos and videos on my iPhone using this gimbal that I recently bought on Amazon. I’ve been waiting for it to go on sale for a number of years instead of paying the full $76 for it. So when I saw it on sale for $38, I went ahead and bought it.

This week’s Micro_Monday project is a clock that uses the LCD keypad shield with the relatively common data logging shield available for the Arduino Uno, a shield that accepts regular size SD cards and has a DS1307 real time clock (RTC) chip on board. A 3V CR1220 is used for battery backup.

Today is 808 Day, a day where we show appreciation for the Roland TR-808 programmable drum machine from 1980. The TR-808 is used extensively in rap and hip hop music. In 2019, I uploaded a test track of the 808 to my FurAffinity profile: www.furaffinity.net/view/32582878/

I've had my little Rezz Room fox Yuki for a few years, but every time I bring her out, I still feel that initial thrill of bringing her out that very first time. Yuki is such a cute little fox, and if there was a way to do so, I'd really love to share her with all of Fauna. ❤️

This week’s Micro_Monday project demonstrates the use of a four-way directional pad on the DFRobot LCD keypad shield. This very versatile shield will work with just about any Arduino board you can think of, including the Mega 2560 like in this example. Also, Konami code for the win. 😉

A little late to the party, as far as Shark Week is concerned, but L$800 later, I finally added my first marine avatar to my already diverse palette avatars. I'd like you to meet my new sharkboi, Marlon. :3

This picture of Marlon was taken by the wharf at Fauna. Look how handsome he is! ❤️

Last night's Journey, REO Speedwagon and Styx set was most certainly a rockin' good time. I really enjoyed sharing my memories - in musical form - of the first rock concert I ever went to back in 2003, at Value City Arena in Columbus, OH.

This week’s Micro_Monday project demonstrates the use of an Elegoo TFT LCD “shield” with an Arduino Uno R3. Shields are essentially expansion boards for microcontrollers. I’m sorry for getting this out to you guys later than usual. 😅

I'm starting to feel like writing intro and outro speeches for DJing is a good thing. Every speech I write for Fauna helps me to build up more confidence and courage to stand in front of the microphone. And there's no better way to master my fear of public speaking than to do it in good company. ❤️

Really had a blast last night keeping the EDM goodness going during Colehusky's birthday tour this weekend. I opened with Armin van Buuren, concluded with Robert Miles, and played all kinds of classics in between. I can hardly wait to hear what Colehusky and Nuku have to offer tonight. ❤️

Unpopular opinion: with Shark Week coming up on Sunday the 26th on the Discovery Channel, I feel like the whole thing is just way too over-promoted and overhyped. Maybe it’s because it’s no longer has any educational value and is now just strictly entertainment. …Or maybe I’m just getting old. 😂

This week's Micro_Mondays involves features using a poteniometer to control how many LEDs are lit in a two-color bar graph array. I mixed the red and green channels to create the three amber segments in the middle.

Really enjoyed playing my 1978 set last night, which was Sergal Night at Moonlight Rollerway, and we celebrated the 48th birthday of my sergal OC Ian Elyran. I began the set with Journey, and finished with Joe Walsh, because life's been good to me so far.

“Verify your age.” Using our ‘87 Ford Aerostar as our primary mode of transportation, my family and I did our back to school and Christmas shopping at Rolling Acres Mall in Akron. We frequently shopped at Sears, JCPenney, and my personal favorite, RadioShack. Rolling Acres was closed in 2013.

This week's belated Micro_Mondays project involves using the SPI mode on the ST7920 128x64 graphic LCD. The code won't work on my Arduino Mega 2560, so I used my Arduino Uno R3 instead.
