People gotta stop believing that paying 500 dollars for an anime figure or hauling 50 books in one month or having an aesthetic room filled with stuff is the norm. Those people you see on the Internet are all content creators, consumerism pays them & costs us.

I want to give them the benefit of the doubt but you already have massive evidence like this on hand. I randomly checked the licensed titles & they don’t seem to be AI, the TL matches the official volumes. Seems to be a case-by-case situation, but I don’t appreciate the dishonesty.

Credit to /Jaro0__ for finding this, (and /Mogeko_bunn_sin for the heads up) There's other titles where a MTL Company was credited as the translator for a specific title despite telling sites like ANN "AI translation was not used for this project." So yea....

It’s been several years since Canis ended but I’ve still not seen a manga cover that can beat these Dear Hatter ones. Need Zakk to come back so bad & show them what a masterclass cover looks like 😩

One thing I notice about English manga is that they often have a glossary at the end instead of putting footnotes as you come across the words like they do here. Unless it’s a difficult concept that needs a longer explanation, I’d rather they just do footnotes.

Speaking of monster romance, ik the point of the story in A Kiss For The Headless Spirit is that he’s trying to regain his form, but that head better stay off during sex. Really enjoyable series so far btw, very fairy-tale-esque.

I love the Veil editions this volume too

We are in a delinquent romance recession & that’s because authors don’t write them to have the rebellious spirit anymore, everybody has to have a heart of gold nowadays. I want a modern Mars, Hot Road, Gokusen, etc., not another series larping the delinquent aesthetics 😩

What I think are worth vs not worth the money as a long-time collector: * Worth the money: - Physical media - Artbooks - High quality figures for series you actually like - Investing in good quality storage like sturdy shelves or good plastic containers (extremely important)

Read the first 2 volumes of Pittosporum since it always rank super high in the Chil-Chil BL awards, so I wanted to see what the hype was about. It seems rather stylistically ordinary so I was ready to hate, but Jpn fans were right. I couldn’t put the series down.

Caught up to Turning recently & I fear the Yuder vs Nathan match made me more excited than any battle shonen I’ve read as of late. It’s a good thing BL novels still haven’t figured out how to write a good long-running sports-focused BL novel, Shueisha’s shaking in their boots rn

I find it interesting how every rich chaebol in Korean manhwa tries to aurafarm but they’ll still have less swag than Shinobu who cosplays as a nerd & is a bum at work. The only one who can make being a dickhead look cool & sexy I fear

Read The Apology of Noumi Senpai & it’s so fun. I love their dynamic, MC’s a manwh*re who sleeps around & the LI is his handsome openly gay junior. Two completely different people that share the same love for philosophy. The niche subject makes the story feel so fresh imo

The way it’s been over 10 years since I first read Blue Sky Complex but it’s still leagues better than the majority of the BLs I’ve read. There’s a reason why it’s been sitting comfortably at the top of my favorite BL series for years, and it sure isn’t going anywhere soon.

Maybe it’s because I’m a bit under the weather but catching up to the working adult arc of Blue Sky Complex & I nearly cried twice. I’ve been wanting to read a BL with a connection that’s beyond sexual desire & attraction and they gave me exactly that.

Finally finished Little Forest & it’s such a charming little story. The artwork’s incredible, fits perfectly with the rustic feel of the story. The series really understand the essence of living off the land, which is all about getting creative & making full use of what you have.

The A Witch Life in Mongol anime is making ppl hopeful for A Brides Stories anime & it terrifies me. The first couple we’re introduced to is a 20 year old bride & a 12 year old groom. There are multiple children getting married in the series. People’d send mother Kaoru Mori to the fucking gulag.

Kodansha should go to hell for how horribly their editors treat their artists. What Akane Shimizu revealed was absolutely terrible. And Cells At Work had a pretty popular anime too. If this is how they treat their veterans, imagine how newbies are treated.

#spoilers . . . Woah apparently in the next volume Chika’s a teacher & Natsuki is a flight attendant??? I did not expect that for Natsuki at all but it suits him ahh 🥹 I feel like it’s a rare occupation for BL

Unbelievably honored to announce that I am translating for Ikoku Nikki (with Inklore). I think I must be dreaming. Tomoko Yamashita’s word choices are delightful and carry so much weight. It’s a challenge I don’t take lightly, and I will do my absolute best to do this brilliant series justice.

Forgot to say it but I started Chihaya Restart yesterday. Really enjoyed it, I’m always on the hunt for more sports series with female characters. It feels like an adult running version of Bocchi The Rock in some aspects. Surprisingly I ship Chihaya with Ayase more than Mio

I do find it funny that people make fun of green yuri for having basic taste in music considering how much weebs think their Japanese music is so niche meanwhile the whole time it’s City Pop & anime music lmao.
