With @riyokoshibe.bsky.social at the Just Transition Commission’s summit in Edinburgh. We have been sharing our report on workers’ perspectives on the closure of Grangemouth oil refinery and Riyoko’s work on the conditions which should be attached to transition public funding.

The brilliant @ewangibbs.bsky.social and @riyokoshibe.bsky.social have an important new piece out on the Grangemouth Oil Refinery Closure and lessons for “Just Transition” governance. 👇

I'm in today's Times writing on the closure of Grangemouth oil refinery with @riyokoshibe.bsky.social. The workers we spoke to in our research want to be part of a green manufacturing future and deserve better. Grangemouth is the posterchild for the UK's wasteful and unjust energy transition.

I learned about Grangemouth when I worked on a CEE blog post with Riyoko last year (tinyurl.com/kbyxf46r). This event will provide a unique view into the front-lines of Scotland's Energy Transition and give a voice to those who we as a society cannot afford to leave behind. #JustTransition

The impending closure of Grangemouth oil refinery is a crucial story in Scotland's unjust energy transition. At 1pm on 11 Feb @riyokoshibe.bsky.social and I will present findings from interviews with Grangemouth workers @energy-ethics.bsky.social in St Andrews. Sign up to attend in person or online!
