Quite the attention for the Teutonic Order’s former headquarters of the Alden Biesen bailiwick in Belgium, near Maastricht today, as the castle is the backdrop for an EU summit…

Very good news to see so many new additions to the NWO-funded replication studies! I hope it will be as insightful for the applicants as it was for me. I think every researcher should replicate someone else’s study once in their life.

This is some really, really great news! We’ve had a long year transitioning to @openjournalsnl.bsky.social but we are finally up and running again. As a past author and now editorial board member I can highly recommend submitting your data paper with @rdjhss.bsky.social!

🔔 Newsflash! 📅 As of today Research Data Journal for the Humanities and Social Sciences has transferred to @openjournalsnl.bsky.social, a platform specifically for diamond open access publishing.

I've never really used LinkedIn, as it was always a very privacy-averse place, but they'll now also be hoovering up your personal data to train GenAI models (as per their new T&Cs). The fact that this is opt-out rather than opt-in speaks volumes.

A paragraph from the new T&C from Linkedin:

'Generative AI Model Training: We are now including these regions in the locations where we use and share member data and content to train generative AI models that create content.

Starting on November 3, 2025, we’ll start to use some data from members in these regions to train these content-generating AI models that enhance your experience and better connect our members to opportunities. Our GenAI features can help hirers find and reach you more easily, and assist members in creating content such as profile updates, messages, and posts. This may include data like details from your profile, and public content you post on LinkedIn; it does not include your private messages.'
