Lab’s 1st preprint! Menstruation is understudied due to societal taboos + a biological challenge: mice (a key system for research + drug discovery) don’t menstruate. @cagricevrim.bsky.social made menstruating mice + used them to discover early events in menstruation. He is on the job market!

I’m thrilled to share my postdoc work and the first paper from the McKinley Lab! 🎉 @karalmckinley.bsky.social We built the first transgenic model of menstruation in mice. We used it to uncover how the endometrium organizes and sheds during menstruation. 🧪 www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... 🧵

100 days and more than $1,000,000,000 in NIH grants canceled— grants that were set to fund vital research on Alzheimer's, cancer, diabetes, and more. Research already conducted has been thrown out. But sure, this is supposed to benefit our hardworking communities...

@ophirklein.bsky.social gave a fantastic talk for the NYU Dental School this week and it was truly a joy to introduce him to my lab. Hope to see you back in NY again soon, Ophir!

Was great to visit @newyorkuniversity.bsky.social dental school today and to hear all the terrific science going on. A highlight of the trip was spending time with our former lab member @rkzwick.bsky.social in her beautiful new space and meet her growing group - she is off to a great start!

The Zwick lab has landed in the Regenerative Medicine Institute @NYU! I’m incredibly excited to build a team to study how epithelial organs are patterned and remodeled throughout life, with a major focus on the remarkable changes that occur in the maternal body during pregnancy..1/5
