Two weeks later: Two major pain points. In my home office, everything is fine. But on the go, I really miss a slightly larger screen and a physical keyboard. I need to look for good, highly portable options now. Happy to take any recommendations!

Boring is beautiful. Back when I worked as a product manager, I often had to catch engineers before they started building the 'interesting' or 'proper' solution. Interestingly, I noticed that junior and senior engineer pairs often built a better, simpler solution than two seniors working together.

I teach a part-time course on relational databases, and I'm stuck looking for a middle ground between the bare-bones MySQL CLI and advanced tools like DataGrip where we only need 5% of the features. I just want a simple SQL editor to run statements and see results. No bloat. Time to tinker a bit.
