This is shameful discriminatory and misogynistic reporting. People aren’t choosing disability to be “cool”. Young women don’t have to “prove” to you that they’re sick. Disability rates are skyrocketing because we’ve left a disabling virus rip through the population for over 6 years.

Consistently masking at conventions is unpleasant, uncomfortable, and sometimes chafes my ears. But as I have not added severe illness to this year's carousel of exhaustion, I am glad to continue doing it, and continue to recommend it to my peers.

The strange dissonance of sitting in the main entrance foyer of a major hospital in Northern Ireland, with SARS-CoV-2 prevalence increasing here to boot, and seeing hundreds of people walk past, all unmasked, and realising that some of those people are going to get Long Covid.
