It's interesting all the health workers speaking out in videos etc about the realities of the pandemic early times. I'm a health vulnerable person with a health vulnerable son. My uncle died of hospital acquired covid just last year I want to yell WHY DON'T YOU CARE ABOUT US? Wear a mask! 😷
I often think this about COVID-19 too. I might not win, but I refuse to helplessly be washed along with the tide. My efforts might be minuscule, and unnoticeable in the scheme of the universe, but they make a difference to one persons universe. That’s enough.
Yes. It is a battle… but I think the honour is in the effort. X
8 people called in sick last week, and 4 people this week. This is just in my little circle of people I need to get jobs done… No one has tested for COVID-19 or anything else. Just endless sick leave which will go down as another mystery I expect.
I did not see that one coming. Fascinating.
A study shows male mice recovering from severe COVID-19 can pass anxiety-like traits to their offspring. The virus alters RNA molecules inside their sperm, suggesting a father's infection before conception could change how the next generation develops mentally. Source: archive.md/U7dad

'Humanism always sounded like it should be soft and easy.' A hard-hitting read. How do you meet your professional duty and practice humanism when the patient has participated in violence, even mass crimes, perhaps directly harming a member of your family? 💔 #MedEd

My little 18 month old grandson has been sick since December when he got both noro and Salmonella poisoning then started childcare. He has a chronic heavy cough and constant thick green snot. All year. 😢 Childcare, parents and gp say "normal". No testing. Just stays home if has a fever. Poor thing
Safer air is not just about air filtration. Today I am going to service and clean the air conditioner. I haven’t used it in ages, so I’m getting it ready for summer. I don’t fancy starting it up and getting some fantastic fungus from it, or allergies if it’s dusty.
Honestly When you consider the fact that kids are being repeatedly infected by COVID-19… a virus that we have seen histological evidence of nerve damage… I’m relieved the kids are doing as well as they are… 😟
Yeah but if you don’t test then you don’t have a problem. I have no idea what the fuss is. /s
Hey @cityofvancouver.bsky.social thanks for promoting clean air in the creekside community centre! I'm curious - against what standard or other operating parameters are you ensuring clean air?

Michigan health officials are reporting the first two deaths caused by the current cyclosporiasis outbreak, the worst ever on record.
first order of business: alienate your base🫡
Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."
When people die and the media says they had “pre-existing conditions”… they’re pacifying the public. Anyone could die from Cyclosporiasis, but they want you to believe it can’t happen to you. It can only happen to the weak, the disabled, the elderly. The expendable people. Eugenics.
Two Deaths Linked to Cyclospora Outbreak in Michigan
The patients had “significant underlying health conditions” that may have contributed to their deaths, health officials said.

A reminder that the failure to mitigate school for airborne transmission has been very costly.
I've read the bits above, Noor I'm staggered that people cannot appreciate the enormous number of Kids with LC and the damage even mild infection inflicts Even if they don't get severely unwell, they remain the greatest vector of domestic spread Open schools meant they went home to infect others
I find this interesting… because China has a proven track record in making massive changes quickly. So I do wonder what the safer air strategies situation is…
China: COVID-19 infections on the rise. 🔸COVID ranks first among respiratory pathogens at hospitals 🔸20.3% positivity rate (+4% from previous week) 🔸The NB.1.8.1 variant lineage remains the predominant circulating strain 🔸The 15-59 age group shows the highest positivity rate among reported cases
I’ll get on my soapbox: I work every day educating Afghan girls and women in the same modalities that were used during school lockdowns— with fewer resources— and no one treats that as a real problem, much less a crisis.
Lockdown people are so funny. They pull out their hair at the fact that schools were closed for five minutes, and then you ask them if they actually want to educate poor and minority children and they’re like of course not
