Just finished Japanese Gothic as my 10th and final book read in July! Most productive reading month since moving to the new house 📚💙

Just DNF'd my fifth book of 2026 which feels really high for me (usually I DNF a book or two a year). Not sure if I'm just choosing worse books or if my book standards have risen 📚💙

Finished The Prison Healer! Super fun read, although it seemed like a lot of similarities with Throne of Glass. My biggest (and only) disappointment was that it could have easily been a queer love story with the FMC, but it turned hetero pretty abruptly. At 92/104 books for the year!🪐📚💙

I'm halfway through The Prison Healer and I really and truly hope the main character falls in love with her female prison guard and not her fellow male prisoner (although I'm worried there's going to be a twist that the guard is actually her long-lost sister or something)
