Pick up new house keys Friday. Or I would have done, if I wasn't on the smash with my sister in Amsterdam. So back Saturday, sprint to estate agent for the keys before they close, then work out how I'm going to move stuff in a 2 seater sports car. The joys.

Football (Played with feet) Is not a gentle watch It does not lead you #tenderly On a path to victory It grabs you It squeezes your heart Hurts your emotions Makes you cry But this morning In the café Watching the match again The tears coming down my face are joyful expressions of pride. #vss365

A couple of hours sleep Saw my grandson leave for double history after we'd celebrated about 3 hours earlier. On reflection, I think that may be the best England performance I've seen in my lifetime. To a man, they were incredible. All of them, everything on the line. They won, IN THE AZTECA. #Tears

I'm writing this now, only now, at 2300hrs, because it's only now I've finally regained use of my faculties, having been stunned earlier today, when both my kids wished me a happy Father's Day before 1000hrs. Absolutely remarkable.

Well, this utter DIY klutz has a success to report. Yacht window removed, cleaned, frame cleaned, new butyl rubber seal attached, screwed back in, hosepipe test done, no leaks!! Huzzah. Will do the other one in the next few days. Well chuffed.

Football is a game of 2 halves Not 4 fucking quarters Utter disgrace Don't give me "heat, water breaks." It's simply more adverts To pay more people That someone is getting a bung from Yet another reason the World Cup shouldn't have gone there whilst that shyster is involved.

A trip down memory lane yesterday. I went to this skool when I was maybe 6 or 7 years old. I'm now north of 60 and it's the 1st time I've been back. Also saw the house I used to live in. Terrible times, to be honest, with a psychopath for a mother, but nice to see the area again, changed a lot mind

A closed gate behind which is a skool that can't be seen.

The country's gone. As a squaddie in Aldershot, Friday afternoon I'd take my washing into The Posh Wash, go to The George, GT, the Ratpit or the Peggy, have a few beers, wander back, collect clean, dry, folded washing and pay a fiver, tops. Dropped it today, not ready till Monday AND ÂŁ19 to boot.
