Stress and sedentary behavior have been around for a while. Yet today addiction and depression are overwhelming public health problems. Now, at long last, we must deal with the most pernicious denizen of our Western environment and culture.

This is a disastrous ruling for public health. I'm no fan of this Department of Agriculture, but at least they recognized that SNAP was killing people, and it's because ultraprocessed food is killing people with its sugar, transfats, omega-6's, and lack of fiber.
