I got Linux running in a PDF file using a RISC-V emulator. PDFs support Javascript, so Emscripten is used to compile the TinyEMU emulator to asm.js, which runs in the PDF. It boots in about 30 seconds and emulates a riscv32 buildroot system. linux.doompdf.dev/linux.pdf github.com/ading2210/li...

A new framework inspired by mountain landscapes enables the classification of nonlinear physical systems by mapping their stable and unstable states, offering insights into abrupt phase transitions. doi.org/hbdbn4
Seeing physics as a mountain landscape for classification of nonlinear systems
Imagine standing on top of a mountain. From this vantage point, we can see picturesque valleys and majestic ridges below, and streams wind their way downhill.

Plants adapt to compacted soil by altering root structure, using engineering-like principles to strengthen outer layers and expand root diameter, potentially improving crop growth in challenging conditions. doi.org/hbcrvc
Plants use engineering principles to push through hard soil
Across the globe, soil compaction is becoming an ever more serious challenge. Heavy vehicles and machinery in modern agriculture compress the soil to such an extent that crops struggle to grow.
