Software developer. Formerly Xamarin/Microsoft. He was a good little monkey and always very curious.
After 16 years on Twitter, I finally deleted my account completely today. Which sucks, because I love the developer community there, but I just can’t implicitly support it anymore. Hoping Bluesky grows even more to replace that community.
I’m not a fan of my computer automatically going into dark mode at 5:09 PM, as we head into my least favorite season in Michigan.
I remember the early years of Twitter, especially the development community. I loved it, the conversations, the friends made, and I'm hoping that BlueSky replaces that. I've stayed on Twitter for years not because of the owner, but the people. There are enough people here now to make this my home.
Trying my import of old tweets again. Hopefully it works better this time.
Shoot…sorry everyone. I was trying to import my old tweets, and it looks like the dates are all today instead of original date. I hope that didn’t mess up anyone’s feed.
Seeking new opportunities! Hey everyone, as a senior dev with extensive experience in .NET, .NET MAUI, Xamarin, cloud, and backend APIs, I'm on the lookout for exciting roles and ready to bring my skills & passion to a new team. If you know of any open roles, let's connect.
"I enjoy writing code in…" Scala is #2. http://therighttool.hammerprinciple.com/statements/i-enjoy-using-this-language
Nice. "I often get angry writing code in.." Top 4 (most angry) incl Java and VB. Bottom 3 (least angry) incl C# and F#. http://therighttool.hammerprinciple.com/statements/i-often-get-angry-when-writing-code-in-this-langua
It's ALLLIIIIIVEEE! I finally figured out the stupid rotation problem. Now I can actually make some progress.
I've taken to littering my code with Console.WriteLine calls to try to figure out what the hell is wiping out my PopOverController
I'm getting very frustrated with View Controller rotation in a Split View Controller.
Wow, Black Swan is a seriously f'ed up movie. Like Fight Club, but weirder.
Protip : when you spend a week+ struggling with something, make sure the answer isn't something you wrote 6 months ago and put on GitHub.
So, when does the Brady Hoke statue begin construction in Ann Arbor?
Let's go Penn State! (better for MSU to face PSU in the Big10 championship game than Wisc). Wisc always beats us.
Do any #monotouch devs want to take a look at something for me and tell me what I'm doing wrong w/Popover? (Repeat from this morning)
I wish there was something like Firebug for native iOS apps. Hover over an element and get details, change style/attributes/text, etc.
I'm getting really nervous that I won't have my #monotouch app done in time. Only 5 days, 10 hours left to submit.
If you're one person and you're taking up three tables in a busy Starbucks, you're a selfish dbag
I'm starting to think that Starbucks has not optimized their wireless network for SSH usage.
Do any #monotouch devs want to take a look at something for me and tell me what I'm doing wrong? Certainly something stupid.
Dammit.I've been screwing around with trying to get SplitViewController, multiple detail VCs, and rotating working for a week. #monotouch
Be warned though. If you see Arthur Christmas, you WILL be subjected to a Justin Bieber video.
Just saw Arthur Christmas. Loved it. Great Christmas movie.
With only 7 days left before I want to submit my iPad app, now is probably not the best time to rearchitect the whole thing, but here I go.
Yes I am. “@philcolley: Hey @RobGibbens - I've been to Cheeseburger in Paradise and Margaritaville all b4 noon today. #iknowyourejealous”
