Looking for calm
as I head

back home
from the lake

This little mushroom was no bigger than 2 inches tall. Makes me wonder what hungry creature was so short that it could only reach up to that little spot on the stem that looks like a bite mark. #photography #fungi

A short mushroom seems to be hiding in the grass. It has a red, rusty red colored top and a stem that is reddish green. The stem has what looks like bite taken out of it pretty low to the ground. It makes me wonder what could be so short it could only reach that low part of the mushroom. Or maybe that's the tastiest spot. The mushroom is nestled in deep green skinny blades of grass.

When I finally realized that my little guy experiences the world through his nose, I slowed down. A lot. Here’s Kai checking out the newest sticks at the library.
