You may remember we said goodbye to our beloved pup Dottie a few months ago. Well, we have a new dog in our lives: meet Alice! Alice is 19 months old, and came from a shelter in Atlanta. We think she's a pittie/Frenchie mix. AI thinks she's a sphynx cat. Apple Computer thinks she's a dogcow. #moof

Alice, a black and white pit/Frenchie mix with big ears and two black eyepatches, sitting on a bed with a pink duvet draped over her shoulders. Her mouth is open and she seems to be smiling. Alice, lying on a different bed with her forepaws stretched out in front of her.Alice curled up in her dog bed, lying on her side, with a black splotch of fur visible on her right side.

Currently annoyed at our stylebook -- a not-uncommon occurrence -- because it mandates that we use the term "Franklin D. Roosevelt Drive" on first reference to the road on the east side of Manhattan.

I saw yesterday that some right-wing outlets were running stories about me, which I’m used to. But this time I’m going to say something about it, because these were framed to imply that I was aligned with their own transphobia. ⬇️

I absolutely love the implications in this bottle copy. 1. “FOR PETS ONLY (DOGS & HORSES)”: there are no other animals kept as pets but those two species. 2. “NOT FOR CATS”: Cats are *explicitly* not pets.

A can of K-9 Care sunscreen. The bottle copy reads:

VETERINARIAN DEVELOPED

FOR PETS ONLY
(DOGS AND HORSES)

NOT FOR CATS

it's this kind of whimsy and humor and intelligence that people who shit on phish don't get, and why i typically don't engage w/folks who shit on the band. the band had power issues and came back playing a song by a band whose name is taken for electric current!

I have zero regrets about moving back to my hometown after 17 years in NYC, but man, this city is just amazing. The most incredible metropolis on the planet as far as I’m concerned.
