I don’t care if he was a Republican. I don’t care if he has different views on policy than I do. What I DO care about is the fact that he’s principled. That he believes in the Constitution & the oath he took to defend it & by extension the rule of law. I care that he’s a TRUE patriot w/ a real spine

Pre-1965. It is not an oversimplification to say that for 100 years the South voted Democratic because a Republican freed the slaves, and thereafter voted Republican because a Democrat signed the Civil Rights Act.
