Headline from *The Guardian* today: “Discount gas stations praised by Trump sold $4m of stolen fuel, lawsuit claims. “KRSM, company that supplied fuel to Freedom Fuel Network, stole millions worth of gas, Mansfield Oil alleges” It’s really just shameless grifting all the way down, isn’t it?

“Trump’s promises to restore fiscal order and reduce the amount of America’s debt have been undercut by spending on the Iran war, tax cuts and tariff refunds.” The NYT passive voice is maddening. It should read “Trump undercuts fiscal order with his war spending, tax cuts and tariff refunds.”

Fireworks started inexplicably going off in my neighborhood tonight. I thought maybe, just maybe, this meant that Dear Leader had finally died. Imagine my disappointment when I realized no, that was not the reason for the fireworks. Well, shit.

Meanwhile, a year ago, Rep. Murphy said that he and Trump were “taking a hard look” at the country’s spending. The deficit was $35 trillion then. It’s now $40 trillion. Good job, guys.
