๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพto everyone who reached out during the recent PDS (Particularly Dangerous Situation) Red Flag Alert in WA. All 20 of our dogs & staff are safe. We ran through our fire evacuation protocols in case of a Level 3 evac notice, & thankfully never got the call. Grateful to ALL the wildland firefighters.

๐Ÿ We've been bee-sy! Echo just detected not 1, but 2 bumble bee nests! BB nests are notoriously difficult to find. Every nest our dogs detect helps researchers learn more about where these important pollinators live. We're so proud of Echo helping uncover some of nature's best-kept secrets. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ

Researchers in the Pacific Northwest knew little about the western spotted skunk, a tiny, elusive critter that roams Western forests. So graduate student Marie Tosa spent two years tracking the species through the Oregon woods, getting sprayed dozens of times in the process. buff.ly/eTqjZM4

So excited to have played a part in this research alongside @mellenmartin.bsky.social & others. Martens are near & dear to our fuzzy Wildlife Detection Dog hearts, & they were thrilled to detect samples for this study. ๐Ÿฆฆ๐Ÿ’ฉ @esajournals.bsky.social: doi.org/10.1002/ecs2...

And another article featured thanks to Matt Delheimerโ€™s photography of female marten F20 in Lassen NF, California ๐Ÿ’—. Huge shoutout to @roguedogs.bsky.social, Matt, and the Levi and Moriarty research programs for collaborative peek into the diets of martens in the PNW and across North America

Having worked w the Forest Rangers on this special project, we can attest firsthand (or 1st ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜‰) to how amazing this project is. ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ "Your gift will support research through camera trap monitoring & scat surveys across 4 of Bhutanโ€™s largest natural areas."

Bhutanโ€™s wild cats face growing pressure from human encroachment. Home to 9 native species (including tigers, snow leopard, and manul), this new project is vital to ensuring their long-term survival.

Climbing to new heights for noninvasive wildlife research! Our #ConservationDogs are currently on assignment for endangered Sierra Nevada red fox surveys in the Eastern Sierras. Just got our 1st call, likely not the last: one of our wildlife projects is at risk. We rescue shelter ๐Ÿ•, who ๐Ÿ’• ๐ŸฅŽ, to find endangered species & support noninvasive wildlife research.
