“The gap between the man I was and the one you want is finally gone.” It kills me how he died thinking she didn’t choose him & that he wasn’t good enough for her. He thinks the problem is solved because they can touch, but he doesn't know she chose him even when they couldn't.

The thought of X-Force hunting down Gambit while he’s in a coma and defenseless in bed makes me SICK. He didn't ask to be brought back and corrupted by that big blue bald bitch. 😭

Not to go back to this, but this is a perfect example of what this whole thread is about. Gambit would never push Rogue to the point of such fear. If he did, he would stop immediately. Death doesn't though. There's a crazed air about him. His love for her is an obsession.

Bear with me as I attempt to articulate all of this properly. Besides the obvious physical differences between Gambit and Death, the differences in how they treat and love Rogue stand out to me. Gambit always gave Rogue a choice, he never forced her into anything.

I’m still not over Death just wanting to be with and loved by Rogue. I thought I had imagined every version of what that arc would be, but it turns out, I hadn't. He wanted her so badly, even though he still didn't think he was good enough for her or what she wanted.

Alright, listen, I’m exhausted. I just was able to get footage from the episode, but I haven't sorted through it really. I’ll be more of a person in the fandom tomorrow or later this week. Hopefully. This is one of my working 6 days in a row weeks, so bear with me. 🥲
