I love inertia. Farts will naturally float, due to being ~100F and made of mainly normal atmospheric gases like nitrogen and oxygen. Air pressure in tall buildings is usually regulated too, so we don't pop our ears going up and down. So not only will the fart go up, it'll go up ^2!

if you fart in a ascending elevator is the gas going up or is it technically stationary?
