The European Roma Rights Centre (ERRC) is an international public interest law organisation working to combat antigypsyism and human rights abuses of Roma through strategic litigation, advocacy, media work, and human rights education.

🚨We are filing a legal complaint with the public prosecutor demanding an independent investigation into the death of Tamás, B., who police allegedly tasered 4 times, forced to the ground, and kicked and beat until he passed out in Százhalombatta #Hungary on 8th July. He died 2 days ago in hospital.

The word fascism is sometimes used too loosely these days. But when a state uses its monopoly on violence to treat its own citizens as invaders in their own homes based on ethnicity, it crosses a line. Last week the #RomaRights Network met in Paris. 33 orgs from 21 countries represented in 1 room, at a time when assembling as anti-racists is in itself an act of defiance. Fascism isn't a spectre haunting Europe - it's in office. That's why this meeting mattered. The struggle continues and so do we.
