Reached 3 years of no weed today. A personal achievement since I was self-medicating - doing a joint a day for over 25 years, due to chronic pain from a broken shoulder. Also, coming up on 4 years no alcohol (woulda been closer to 6, but). Over 30 years no meat too, but that's another story. Trying.

1/ Terms can be debated, of course. But the thing about Progressivism is it's always progressing. A liberal from a hundred years ago is not as liberal as one today (Thomas Paine? Quite the counterpart in his day). That's just how it works. It requires CHANGE, growth. Kinda like evolution. ;-)

Very sorry to relay that BlueSky has lost one of their own recently. Anne, at sasurvivors.bsky.social passed away on March 5th, 2026, of severe pneumonia. She was a caring and talented person. Love is the most important thing you can do with your time on this planet. If you can't find a person to love, then find a dog. Someone. Something. Anything. Just make sure it's the one thing you accomplish while you are here. Nothing matters more.

Apparently, Marilyn Monroe had a thing for Lincoln. I had no idea, which is weird cause I like them both (probably for different reasons). It was more than a thing actually. More of an obsession. She carried around a photo of him with her, collected books about him, and had his picture over her bed.

Watching the Abraham Lincoln docudrama on Prime, I thought I'd share some photographs from my trip to DC in 2011. Included here are pictures from Ford's Theater, as well as of Booth's gun, and a pillow Lincoln rested on afterwards at the Petersen house - across the street from the theater.
