Jeff Hurd voted NO on the Protect America's Workforce Act that restored collective bargaining rights to a million federal workers. Western and Southern Coloradans deserve a voice in Congress who will stand up for their rights to fair wages and safe workplaces. I will be that voice.

Representing Coloradans isn't complicated. It requires showing up, answering the phone, listening, and standing up to the powers that be in D.C. all too eager to brush us aside. It requires being passionate about wanting to make life better for our neighbors and fighting tooth and nail to do it.

There are currently 184 lawyers in Congress. There are only 9 engineers. I was a combat engineer in the Army. Engineers make great lawmakers because we use data, facts, and logical problem-solving to tackle complex issues. We focus on practical results. Lawyers, well, they have better suits.

We had a super great time at the Aspen 4th of July parade! We had some incredible supporters turn out and the Scout was a hit! Next week we’re going to be back on the road and heading down to Pueblo for a fundraiser for the Aspen Acre fire victims.

Celebrating the 4th of July today, I’m remembering that the true spirit of the United States lies in communities like Ouray, Pueblo, and others across our district. Places where neighbors look out for and help one another. This is the America I fought for. This is the Colorado I continue to serve.
