Volunteering at elementary schools is exhausting and sometimes demoralizing but there is nothing like having kids come running up to hug you and say hi 🥰

Our thanksgiving meal featured tamales, barbecued turkey and pecan pie. I think that earns me some sort of Texan badge!

The best thing about coordinating with college student volunteers for our book fair is the looks of joy and excitement on their faces when they walk back in to an elementary school library for the first time in a decade.
