A proud GenXer who enjoys discussing politics, science fiction, PC gaming & artsy cinema. I enjoy blogging, jazz, and rainy days. I am trying to keep the candle lit during these dark days. Read my unfocused blog here: https://robotjazz.blogspot.com/

I took a mission to deliver 2 travelers to a frozen moon. I followed them back to their settlement & had a chat with the locals. Nice people! Felt good to remove my helmet before returning to the frozen vacuum. #Starfield feels more like a lived setting than any other space game I've ever played.

I love the little human-interest stories you come across in #Starfield. For example, Mitch, who lives in Cyndonia. His story about being sickly due to the medical treatments he received to cure an illness always touches me. I am happy to fetch his favorite comic books for him.

The drearier the planet, the more I like it. Vasco and I explore an abandoned mine complex on Promixa Centauri B as scalding rain falls. (Rain FX added in because photo mode doesn't capture rain for some reason. 😠) #Starfield

I fed my recent satirical post—imagining Trump facing off against a Soviet like Andropov—into Gemini Notebook. It produced an unintentionally hilarious video that treats my fictional WWIII timeline as historical fact! The ending line almost made me spit out my drink from laughing so hard! 😁🤣 #Blog

Why bother calling your Senator and telling them to vote NO on Todd Blanche for Attorney General even though Trump will keep him in the job regardless? Because history should record the NO vote. You’ll want it on the record that we rejected him. That’s why.

This photo of Gretchen Whitmer is one of the single most powerful symbolic depictions of the contemporary Democratic Party leadership. Decking yourself out in blue as if you're different, while cooperating with Trump and pretending not to, says it all.

I love the little bits of life found in #Starfield. I landed at Akila City and as I was leaving the ship services building, I was amused to see my crew off on their own errands. Vasco was heading to a different landing field; Sam was heading into town, and Barrett was bringing up the rear.

Turns out the teenage me pushing cardboard counters across a map had a better grasp of Iran than the folks tossing dice in Washington today. I wrote about Gulf Strike, chess blindness, and the price of ignorance. #Blogging #Blogpost #Wargaming robotjazz.blogspot.com/2026/07/the-...

As I think about this unmitigated disaster that is Donald Trump’s illegal war of choice with Iran, one thing above all others keeps stunni...

Soon, the doors of our city stretching from the ocean to the clouds will open, and it's time to show you what's waiting inside. Today, we start from the basics... What is Nivalis Nights? 🌊☁️

I just discovered Google's NotebookLM, an AI-powered tool that generates videos based on written content. I fed it one of my blog posts about #Starfield, and this is what it created. Not perfect - it said "Skyrim in Space" was 4 words - but otherwise the video is close to what I wrote! This is fun!

A sure sign that I am suffering from the summer blues is seeking out dark & moody games like #Starfield. Today is the 2nd day I booted it up. The last time I played was early June before summer began. My mind is saying it has had enough with summer & yearns to return to the darker days of autumn. 🙂
