Even after last year’s unforgettable season it still is amazing to me that IUFB is currently on a 17-0 winning streak #hoosiers

My daughter wants to go on a train ride so tomorrow we’re taking the Metra to the farmer’s market near where we lived last summer and that is one of a million reason why I love public transportation.

Just checked out the new park/playground that’s a few blocks from our home and it’s awesome. It’s dinosaur themed and has separate toddler / bigger kid sections so all kids can play safely. Also there’s pickleball courts so I guess I should finally learn how to play.
I’m new to the whole vinyl thing so I haven’t had a chance to pre-order any albums yet. Pretty sure the Ms. Rachel album is going to be my first 😅
Just finished reading my 17th book of the year. So yeah I’d say the whole “read on the train so I don’t scroll my phone” plan is going pretty well.
I procrastinated something for over two months and it was way harder and more frustrating than I expected so I feel validated.
What’s cuter that watching your kids become friends with your friends’ kids?
Only a 2 year old would call being taking out of bed to sit on a rug in an unfinished basement while waiting for a tornado warning to pass a “party”
Around mile 11 of my half marathon I saw a spectator with a sign with a picture of Jeff Probst and the words “you have to dig!” on it. I thought oh that’s funny a survivor fan and then realized that it was my boss 🤣🤣
Just told my sister I finished (and loved) a book she recently loaned me. She responds by offering to loan me another book she enjoyed by the same author. My sister’s copy of that book is already sitting on my kitchen table 🤣🤣
When I was breastfeeding I was so good about staying on top of hydration because my daughter’s life literally depended on it. Sadly, I don’t have the same discipline when I have an upcoming half marathon and it’s only my own personal health and comfort at stake.
Husband took the toddler to an out of town family event while I stayed back for a coworker’s wedding. It’s amazing how much cleaning you can get done without a 2 year old running around your house.
Outdoor solo runs > outdoor stroller runs >>>>>>>>>>>> treadmill runs
Hated the twist because I don’t like when thinks are up to chance (similar to do or die) but loved the outcome tonight so I’m not too mad about it #Survivor50
My daughter always takes a book to bed and tonight she decided she wants to sleep with my pchem teaching lab binder. Should I be concerned?
It’s my defense anniversary which makes 6 years since I defended my phd. I can officially say I’ve been out longer than I was in and wow the post phd years go by so much faster 😅
We’ve evolved from calling bananas “nanas” to “banananas”. I’m going to be so sad when they’re called by their proper name.
My daughter just pointed to this illustration of Margaret Hamilton and exclaimed “like Eleanor!”
Finally back to being able to go for an hour long run where it feels pretty good
I can’t believe I live in the same era that has both Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Mondo Duplantis
Does my daughter need more magna tiles? No. Do we celebrate Easter? Also no. Did I still buy my daughter more magna tiles to put in her Easter basket as a partially selfish gift because I also want to play with them? Fuck yes!
One of the best parts about moving to Chicagoland is that my sister and I now can just take turns dog sitting when we go on vacation. We don’t have to worry about paying someone bc we try to keep it fairly equal and we know we can trust the sitter so it’s a win win.
One of the fun things about parenting a 2 year old is the part where they know a ton of words but as their parent you’re one of the few that understands what they’re saying so when family visits it’s like you have a secret language between the two of you
The 2026 Barkley Marathons is over. There are no finishers. #BM100
Nothing says happy Monday like being unable to find one of your mittens (while the rest of your winter gear is still packed in boxes) as you’re late to catch your train. Doing the one mitten / one hand in pocket look today I guess.
We officially own a treadmill which means even though my husband insists he’s done marathoning for a while he’s inevitably going to register for one soon. Let’s hope it’s in a fun place!
Indoor rock climbing I Indoor rock climbing II Outdoor rock climbing I Cross country skiing Bowling (There were also a few chemistry/math/physics classes sprinkled in there)
