I think the quiet but actually really useful new feature of macOS Golden Gate will be the ability to use AI to create shapes. Shapes, not images. Like this one. I needed a graphic to punch up my recent HOA newsletter and I got this in less than 30 seconds inside of Pages.

💻 Mac Tip: ↖ Do you sometimes lose your Mac's pointer location? 🫨 You can "shake" it to temporarily enlarge it to find it. ↔ Just a quick back-and-forth with the mouse or trackpad. ⚙️ If it isn't working for you, check System Settings, Accessibility, Displays, "Shake mouse pointer to locate." #macOS

Mac Tip: 📁 Did you know you can have folders listed first in Finder windows? The switch is in Finder, Settings, Advanced. 👉 Just remember to also sort the files in the Finder window by name or the folders will be mixed in as before. #macOS

Law #1 if you post Mac tips: If your tip works on every Mac except a 2018 MacBook special edition model set to Swedish, then comment number 1 will be from someone using a 2018 MacBook special edition model set to Swedish saying "It doesn't work for me." ...and they won't mention which Mac they have.

␡▶ Forward Delete on a Mac is a funny thing. 😢 Those who switched from Windows miss it. 🤷‍♂️ Lifelong Mac users don’t understand why you need it. Either way, there are three ways to do it on Mac. ⏵ Globe/FN+Delete ⏵ You can use Control+D. ⏵ Switch to the big Apple keyboard which does have a key #macOS

🍎👉 Do you know about Mac "Proxy Icons?" ▶ While working with a doc in an app, move the pointer to the file name at the top. ▶ The icon that appears to the left can be dragged to the Finder to move the file WHILE IT IS OPEN. ▶ Or, drag it to the Dock to open it in a different app. #macOS

Mac/iPhone Tip: 🔤 If you don't know how to spell a word, spell check may fix it for you as you type. 🤷‍♂️ But if you can’t even get close enough for that to work, ask Siri instead. 💬 ”How do you spell conscientious.”  You’ll also get a dictionary entry to look at as Siri spells it out loud for you.
