Since we know how y'all get in the fall... 😇

One last reminder about our Fall Spooktacular tomorrow at 5:30pm: Don't miss out on the spooky stories, haunted maze, games, and more for all ages! Want to join our costume contest? Register here: www.rowancountylibrary.org/event/fall-s...

It really has been like this for the last couple years, huh? Are you appreciating the lower temperatures? Our favorite part (if we may suggest) is that the air is FINALLY dry enough to sit and read outside. 😅

Tomorrow at 5:30pm is our Fall Spooktacular! Send us your spooky stories, register for the costume contest, or just drop in for games and fun. Atlanta, Megan, and the rest have been hard at work on our haunted maze, and you won't want to miss out. 👻🎃 www.rowancountylibrary.org/event/fall-s...

Next Wednesday, 11/4 at 4:30pm, we're hosting scientist and author Jason Lindsey, known nationally as "Mr. Science!" Come hear how Kentuckians have contributed to scientific advancement from an expert in getting kids interested about STEM. 🔬📐⚙️

Don't forget that tonight's ghost walk and history tour starts at 6pm at MSU's belltower! You'll want to hear these stories about Morehead's spooky past in person.

Thanks to our local Phi Eta Sigma chapter for putting up our fall decorations! The library always looks better with a little color and some smiling faces. 🍁🥰💙

We're very sorry, y'all, but unfortunately this weekend's repair café has to be cancelled. 😔 Don't worry, we'll have the next one rescheduled soon enough!

We know you know this, but our fall Spooktacular starts at 5:30pm October 30. Just wanted to remind you because, you know, it's a lot of fun. And we wouldn't want you to miss it. So you should be there. In costume. Get your face painted. Lose yourself in the haunted maze. Live deliciously.

Looking for something to read? Rowan recommends "Goldie" by Ellen Miles! "I love puppies, and every one of these is about helping a different foster dog. I'm gonna read them all!" Give it a try and let us know what you think! Got a recommendation of your own? Let us share it! 💙

Did you ever meet a book that just would not, COULD not behave itself? If you went to the doctor 8–12 times a year, you'd probably have a think about why that might be or what you could do to lower that number. This book? Nah. We're starting think that maybe it just likes to hang out in mending. =_=

If it's broken, come fix it! Drop in on our latest repair café next Saturday from 2–5pm, where volunteer experts from our community can help you out. Instead of throwing that old thing away and buying a new one, keep what you have with a hand from your friends and neighbors!

Still plenty of time to sign up for our fall craft night at Create + Explore + Discover, 5pm 10/20! In the spirit of the season, we're saying goodbye to some old books by making them into something new. www.rowancountylibrary.org/event/create...

Consider this an anonymous tip: There'll be a (fictional) murder at the library this Saturday at 2pm. That's plenty of time to get ready for some sleuthing and find out whodunit. Can't make it to the scene? Don't worry—there's always a crime on the 3rd Saturday every month, like clockwork. Weird.

A little news 📰 for y'all: We've added zines 📔 to our circulating collection! These are short, self-published, self-distributed booklets usually featuring art and/or writing that celebrate our right to freedom of press. Check out more on our blog post: rowancountylibrary.org/posts/zines-...

Registration is open now for our caregivers' night out! Join others on the parenting or guardianship journey for a moment to breathe and take up space for yourself, with refreshments and fun on us. Need resources? We'll also have Tiffany Weaver from Pathways here to help!

Parents and guardians, don't forget! 📢🛜 Tomorrow at 5:30pm is our free internet safety class with officer Zach Haney, designed especially for parents and other caregivers. Drop in and learn what you can do to help keep the web safer for kids!

Listen. The kids are on TikTok, so this is for parents: It's spooky season, and Megan's creepy craft night is back at 5pm 10/27. Ages 13–17 get a Halloween movie and can make their own coffin bookshelf; it's honestly pretty cool. Don't let your teens miss out! rowancountylibrary.org/event/creepy...

✅HEADS UP✅ Our phones are working properly again...for now. We're still having occasional issues, so if we don't pick up, it may be because you got unlucky and called during one of those windows. Wait a while and try again to get through, and we'll keep you updated on when the problem's resolved!

Looking for something to read? Missy recommends "Bus Gamer" by Minekura Kazuya! "Corporate espionage, high stakes, shaky alliances—you don't have to already be a Saiyuki fan to enjoy the ride." Give it a try and let us know what you think! Got a recommendation of your own? Let us share it! 💙

Reminder: We're closed tomorrow! No items are due, but our 24/7 drive-thru book drop remains available for anyone who needs it.

Sometimes it takes a while before you get your turn at a new or popular book. For this weekend's readers' advisory, share a book that's worth waiting for! 🕰️📘💀

⚠️HEADS UP⚠️ We're experiencing a technical difficulty with our phone system! 📞🚫 If you call us, it rings normally on your end, but not on ours. We promise we're not ignoring you! 😅 The issue is being addressed, but we're not yet sure when things will be fixed. We'll keep you updated!

Looking for something to read? Savannah recommends "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams! "You know it even if you haven't read it. It's a classic for a reason, so read and laugh!" Give it a try and let us know what you think! Got a recommendation of your own? Let us share it! 💙

Heads up: We'll be closed October 12! No items are due that day, but our 24/7 drive-thru book drop remains available for anyone who needs it.

We've mentioned our new Irish Club, but anything worth mentioning is worth mentioning twice, and it's definitely worth spending some time with Julie to explore Irish culture, language, art, and media. Hop in next Wednesday, 10/7 at 10am. Fféach leat ann~!

It's officially October, which is when we all stop pretending that we don't love things spooky. Don't miss out on Ronnie's next after-hours HorrorWood! program, 10/9 at 5:30pm, where you'll get a chance to dive into scare cinema and watch a movie that might just be watching you back. 😱

You know who you are. And we love you. 💙 How long is your reading list? 📜

Life is stressful, we get it. We try to keep things laid back here, but you may not know we've got a free yoga class every Thursday at 5:30pm. Let CJ and Allie help you toward your goals, whether that's relaxation, fitness or something else. We try to stay flexible, so join in and do the same.
