Thanks to the swift action from our #BCWildfire Service, the majority of new wildfire starts are being kept under 10 hectares. For the first time in Canada’s history, we used drone technology to complete planned ignition on active wildfires within the Brunswick Fire Complex.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sooke pilot Nicholas Dale while battling the Gold Mountain Fire in Colorado My thoughts are with his loved ones, friends, and everyone in the aerial firefighting community who is mourning this tremendous loss May he rest in peace
