Not small stretch: #RedSox improve to 32-8 (.800) for their last 40 games dating back to June 18. Last time BOS had as many as 32 wins over any 40-game stretch was in 2018. The Sox have won 15 straight games against teams that entered today with a winning record dating back to June 25.
First time #RedSox have hit 4+ home runs in back-to-back games since July 19-21, 2021. Tomorrow, a chance to tie another franchise record if they can do it again. That's happened twice in club history: in 2020 and in 1977.
FINAL: #RedSox pound #WhiteSox, 14-2 BOS starter Patrick Sandoval allows 2 runs over 5.0 IP. Scoreless relief from the BOS bullpen after that. 1st-inning grand slam for Caleb Durbin, 2 home runs for Wilyer Abreu. Jarren Duran also homers. More: @live.rsnstats.com

#RedSox baseball at a "normal" time. It's been a while. Can't wait.
New #RedSox outfielder Eli White will wear No. 38, last worn for BOS by Kyle Harrison. Some others notable No. 38's include Curt Schilling (2004-07), Buddy Hunter (1971-73), Rico Petrocelli (1963-65), and Dave "Boo" Ferriss (1945).
New #RedSox catcher Jake Rogers will wear No. 46, last worn for BOS by Tommy Kahnle. Some others notable No. 46's include John Schreiber (2021-24), Craig Kimbrel (2016-18), Ryan Dempster (2013), Jacoby Ellsbury (2007-09), Jhn Wasdin (1977-2000) and Bob Stanley (1977-89).
New #RedSox reliever Erik Miller will wear No. 64, last worn for BOS by Danny Coulombe. Also… Zach Penrod (2024) Tayler Scott (2023) Connor Seabold (2021-2022) Josh A. Smith (2019) William Cuevas (2018) Brandon Workman (2013-2018) Che-Hsuan Lin (2012) Anastacio Martínez (2004)
#RedSox add left-handed pitcher Erik Miller, catcher Jake Rogers, and outfielder Eli White to the active Major League roster. BOS options Romy González to Triple-A Worcester. BOS designates Ryan Watson for assignment.
#RedSox have designated reliever Ryan Watson for assignment accounting to Mass Live's Chris Cotillo via Twitter. Another team might claim him off waivers or he could wind up back at Triple-A Worcester.
Well said. Prospects’ value is, well, prospective. It might develop, it may not. But winning, competitive seasons? They’re real and previous and #RedSox have one right now. The Major League team is clearly better today than it was yesterday—all the more so by moving on from a flawed philosophy.
I mostly write business-focused sports stories at LinkedIn News, but I made an exception today because I needed to share some thoughts on the ignominious end to the overhyped build-from-within era of the Red Sox. lnkd.in/p/e5mdpguA
Yesterday’s deal for Adley Rutschman is a sign that #RedSox baseball boss Breslow has learned from past mistakes and is improving at a job that he probably wasn’t quite ready for when he got it, writes @chadfinn.bsky.social. rsnstats.link/3uo
Kudos to Craig Breslow for having the guts to trade for Adley Rutschman, and other trade deadline thoughts - The Boston Globe
Catcher was the weakest position on the roster. Once Rutschman returns from a wrist injury, it will be a strength.

Phew 😅 It's not easy capturing Breslow-speak in 300-character posts, lol
#RedSox Breslow: "We feel good about our team. They deserve the confidence that we have." Of the Deadline, says "We were aggressive in bringing players in and we are positioning ourselves to reach our objective, which is to try and win a World Series."
#RedSox Breslow calls Carlos Narváez "an incredible guy and we saw how much he cares about the team." But says, "This was part of what was required in order to get this deal done so we did it." Says with Wong and newcomer Jake Rogers Sox will be good at C until Rutschman returns for IL.
#RedSox Breslow on the risk of injecting a new catcher into a already solid pitching ecosystem: "It's a non-zero consideration but when you have a chance to get Adley Rutschman, you do it and then you figure out the rest."
#RedSox Breslow says Eli White is a good defender, an option in order to give days off to Rafaela, Abreu, or Duran. "There are ways to make this work. We are going to do that and feel like he adds another level of athleticism to what I think has become the identity of this team."
#RedSox Breslow: "I do think the position that our team is in right now, the opportunity that we believe we have in front of us, warranted being aggressive and meaningfully improving our outlook and that we're hopeful that we did that today."
#RedSox Breslow on Marcelo Mayer: "He was a really big part of this organization. He was someone that was looked upon to be part of a core and I still think that's going to happen. It's going to happen with the San Francisco Giants at this point but he's an incredibly talented player."
