Got to watch The Odyssey at the BFI IMAX last night. Pretty incredible movie, probably need to watch it again to really take it all in. Is it ok to say I preferred some of Nolan’s other movies? The cinema, though. Wow! What an experience.

I really don’t know what’s more frustrating. Seeing Saka and Rashford do the very thing we needed against Argentina or the obvious fact that France are not at all bothered about this game
I can’t believe it ended like that. We were so close. We have so many players who are quick and good on the ball. Why did we think the right tactic here was let’s defend for 40 mins.
Lovely weekend back in Istanbul with the lads. Started off 👎🏼 when I collapsed twice on the plane but once we got there things picked up. Lot of walks and delicious food and sights and laughter with old friends. Incredible city 🇹🇷
I watched an interview with Christopher Nolan describe the intricate process of filming with IMAX cameras, cutting the film, digitally editing it and then glueing it back together. Where can I watch The Odyssey in a IMAX 70mm screening?
Great second half! Loved that Saka/Rashford cameo at the end. Also Djed Spence, who is the first Muslim player to represent the senior England mens football team ❤️
Nice to see Test and learn gaining momentum in gov right now. Some gov folk have raised two questions. Leaders: if teams are experimenting, how does it tie back to strategy? Teams: Are OKRs and portfolios still the right framework? I think they matter more: rummanamin.co.uk/the-golden-t...

Test and learn changes what a strategy is for, what OKRs measure and how portfolios deliver. The golden thread connecting them is how experiments add up to outcomes.

At GDS we had the golden thread on a wall: strategy down to teams, every person able to point at why their work mattered. Under test and learn that thread comes to life. Intent flows down, learning flows back up. New post: rummanamin.co.uk/the-golden-t...

Had a lovely time in Edinburgh. I did not pack appropriately for an unexpectedly sunny weekend.
Went to see the The Mandalorian and Grogu. It was quite a let down IMHO.
I’ve been expecting rain all weekend after checking the forecast but it’s been nothing but sunny
This is just taking the biscuit. How are these instructions acceptable 😂😭
Technical debt always loses the prioritisation battle, but ignoring it isn't free. It's deferred cost with interest. I wrote about how gov teams can tackle it. Make debt visible, protect sprint capacity, and modernise incrementally without stopping delivery. rummanamin.co.uk/tackling-tec...

We've seen why it's critical to run things safely. Often this can be traced back to decisions made over time. This framing is helpful for teams. Adds weight to raise outside of retros. Short post on tackling tech debt. Make it visible + modernise incrementally. rummanamin.co.uk/tackling-tec...

Come on United 👏🏽 - Great way to end my birthday, which started by having a nice brunch at Farm Girl opposite the Natural History Museum.
Just started Ghost of Yōtei and i’m blown away by the visuals.
The final of the African Nations Cup has descended in to total anarchy. Senegal are walking off the pitch?! Ref has made two appalling decisions but this is poor!
I couldn’t make it to #ukgc26 but I’ll be following along on here. Look forward to hearing all about it 👍
About to take the new bullet train from Mecca to Medina. There is a Subway at the station, which is a pleasant surprise. Love a tuna melt!
Absolutely exhausted after completing Umrah but it’s indescribable how I felt to see the Kaaba in person for the first time. Reading about it and seeing it on TV doesn’t really compare when you see the whole place, scale of people and the pilgrimage itself.
