Dedicated runner and long distance walker obsessed with parkrun. Dysgwr Cymraeg. Owned by two retired racing greyhounds.

The 8 NE Wales parkruns welcomed 1484 participants (-24 on last week; +161 on 7 events this week last year) with 182 volunteers giving their time across the region🎉 I set up at one #parkrun & ran at another - happy with how both went! #running

I’m beginning to think that the hares ARE getting used to me - a few months ago I barely got a photo of them disappearing and now they seem to pose. Never get tired of seeing them - was tired myself so did a 5k recovery run today #running #hare

A single hare resting in a field with its ears in a semi-alert positionTwo hares together in profile & with their ears upright

Schedule called for a threshold run today but a friend asked me to run with her (& I didn’t think I would be able to speak if I followed the schedule) so a 4.4 mile tempo run it was! Still spotting hares on my way to work #running #cycling

Cloud obscuring the sunrise except for a peach stipe across the sky

A hare helpfully posing near a dock plant which (to me) mimics a hare’s ears - I’ve circled back so many times thinking I’ve spotted a hare (& I haven’t) - but this time, I did! Tonight, I ran a 4 mile base run to finish the day #running #hare

A hare crouching in a field of grass I call
‘hare field’ with a dock plant in seed behind it (looking a lot like a hare’s ears)

A long(er) run today of 10.75 miles - later than usual as out last night with a #parkrun group celebrating my birthday (age now ends in ‘0’) along with 2 other fellow volunteers (whose ages also end in ‘0’) - at least it’s a new age category! #running #cake

lit candles and a sparkler on a restaurant table in front of a mural of a street of houses. Wine glasses can be observed on the table as well..

The 8 NE Wales parkruns welcomed 1508 participants this week (3rd highest this year & 122 more than last week) with 178 volunteers running the events. I found a bit of an obstacle during set up this morning - good thing we know someone with a chainsaw! #parkrun #running

A fallen tree blocking a trail with heavily wooded areas to either side and the path disappearing into the distance

Another 5k base run but during the solar eclipse as I wanted to see how dark it would get. The sun promptly disappeared behind clouds & remained there during the critical window. Did see 2 hares on my way in this morning though! #running #hares #cycling

A 4 mile base run today which was (just) manageable in current temps but not sure about tomorrow’s planned run (see what happens). This morning, passed a flight of #swallows, possibly getting ready for their long flight to South Africa #running

The 8 NE Wales hosted 1386 participants (-82 on last week; +126 on last year for 7 venues)-volunteer numbers were their second highest for the year at 195! People like standing outside in the sun more than rain? My turn as RD passed without incident (phew!) #running #parkrun

The 8 NE Wales parkruns welcomed 1468 people (-16 on last week; +186 on last year for 7 parkruns). The YOY increase for this week is attributable to the addition of Flint Castle parkrun - usually the increase is higher than a single parkrun’s attendance (poss summer hols effect?) #running #parkrun
