Local news? Please. There's a better chance that Sinclair dumps KDNL to TCT or convert it to Roar 24/7 by years' end. They're gonna REALLY sting with the loss of ABC especially with no more MVPD eyeballs as YTTV, Hulu, etc. won't give two shits about them now. KDNL? More like K-DNR, amirite?

I stayed a night in a hotel near Forest Park last year and attended a wedding in the downtown Holiday Inn 15 years ago. That gives me more of a commitment than KDNL ever had to St. Louis.

KDNL, which is owned by Baltimore-based Sinclair Broadcast Group, has not had local news programming since 2001. It shut down its news department a month after carrying costly commercial-free coverage of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Sinclair spokesperson Jessica Bellucci said KDNL will resume local morning and primetime newscasts sometime later this year.

"This new direction allows us to invest directly in local news and programming, reinforcing our long-term commitment to serving the St. Louis community," she said in an email.

lol the name flickers back and forth for me in real time like Google Maps is embarrassed, and it should be embarrassed I'm surprised anyone is surprised. Google's a shit company that's been playing cuddly lapdog to this regime

Are you fucking kidding me, Google Maps??? This is the most embarrassing timeline. 🤦‍♂️ Going back to @mapquest.com and Waze. Techbros were a mistake and I will never forgive any of these companies for capitulating. I see where your priorities lie.

Lake Ontario but spelled wrong.

the most annoying part is how the overwhelmingly right-wing controlled US mainstream media will paint this worthless publicity stunt by an addled, deeply unpopular sack of shit—poised to be throttled in the midterms thanks to apathy and buyer's remorse, no less—as some show of "strength"

Fun fact: I first saw Clue as a four-year-old as my parents recorded the movie on VHS during a Showtime free preview weekend. (Same with Pee-wee's Big Adventure) I thought the movie was honestly hilarious as a kid, seeing it again a few years later, there were so many jokes I completely missed lol

Sigh... Tim Curry too. I'm probably more the "Clue" fan than the RHPS fan (though the latter was fine) but all in all he was a damn fine actor and comedian.

it's almost breathtaking just how much this regime openly desires to have their own party be annihilated at the polls on November 3, they are so hostile at any opportunity to have an off-ramp to save their butts let them cook

Taking this picture with a grain of salt since I can’t find the definite source, but many of these do coincide with what we already know. Sad for the industries this impacts, but thank god we walked away from any kind of deal

It's honestly funny seeing Larry Ellison getting his glass jaw smashed into oblivion and his idiot son exposed as a dumbass who knows nothing about the movie industry or the politics behind it... and now the media is finally starting to realise this illegal merger never had a chance to begin with

Paramount’s $111-billion bid for Warner Bros. Discovery, once touted as a sure thing, has been abruptly delayed as California and other states mount an aggressive antitrust challenge.

The media has been basically banging the drum that Paramount-WB has been inevitable just like they've been playing along with propping up Altman and his BS, when a cursory look under the hood reveals that it's a flimsy narrative that can be undone with the bare minimum of critical thinking

I’m continually shocked how little anyone is discussing OpenAI’s direct risk to the future of Oracle - especially as Oracle stock is so crucial to the paramount/WBD closing in September! Also: this situation is one that’s uniquely resistant to bailouts as Oracle’s stock is valued in vibes.
