Jim O’Callaghan promised to give counselling notes a ‘presumption of non disclosure’. He didn’t. Just now he pushed his amendments thru 6 votes to 2 on the Justice Cttee (incl 2 govt TD subs who hadn’t listened to debate). This ignores rape crisis centres, survivors, therapists, human rights groups.
Claire Byrne and Ray D’arcy paid by RTE til end of the year despite leaving RTE (certainly by choice in Byrne’s case) two months before. This cost the taxpayer almost €100K. What other worker gets these deals? No end to it.
Govt allowing free vote on Soc Dem abortion bill amending the 3 day wait, criminalisation, FFA. But Sinn Fein are voting AGAINST, so won’t pass. Outrageous that SF so conservative on women’s rights. They’ll remove 3 day wait but continue to force women to travel. Contact SF TDs - this is not REPEAL.

Shocking choice by @tonightvmtv.bsky.social. Also disappointing to have nobody on panel arguing against references in GBV trials.

Sinn Féin Ard Fheis has voted to ban 🦊fox hunting! This is a massive step on the road to a full ban on this cruelty. A vote to ban in the north is pending. That pressures for change in the south. We can now work on switching FFFG TDs. Well done to all who worked on this since my Bill in December.

The idea that you must be in a ‘representative group’ to go on a protest or talk to the govt is absurd. There isn’t a legal right to union representation for example. The govt can’t be let set such a precedent. Trade unions should learn from #fuelprotests & call national action on cost of living.
