With Of Empires and Dust finished, that makes 1.5 million words – 4 novels, 3 novellas, 2 short stories – written across 3.5 years. I've only been writing for 3.5 years and that blows my mind because it's my whole life now. 4 years ago I was working in a lab 🤷🏻♂️
The craft of writing is a fickle thing. Some days I think 'damn, this is the best work I've ever produced '. Other days I think 'what if everyone hates this book and it derails my career'. It's an emotional rollercoaster 😅

51,000 words written in the last 19 days. Maybe another 40,000 to write in the next 9-10. The grind continues. But the end is in sight.
Am I the only one who had absolutely no problem with the old verification blue tick on twitter long before Elon? I never needed to know that Joe from Ohio was absolutely Joe from Ohio. But knowing which account was the real Mark Hamill was pretty useful. It also gave me something to shoot for 😅

I've been quiet as hell because I'm working day and night to get this book finished. Sorry for my lack of replies! We've just crossed the 400,000 word mark. Somewhere between 30,000-50,000 more to go. 10 days? I'm looking forward to sleeping.
There comes a moment when writing these stories that you just know in your bones that a character has to die. A moment where it's just right, and poetic, and perfect... And you still hate it. Off to get the whiskey.

I think the reason there are so many 'echo chamber' comments about BlueSky is because people have genuinely come to see twitter as a solely political platform. They can't imagine a platform that exists without politics. They think this place is a shrine to Kamala. I post dog pics and book stuff🤷🏻♂️

I cannot even begin to explain how absolutely fucked this is. That Harper Collins would even consider this shows me they are not a company that cares about the author, the story, or the soul of creation. Man, I feel like a parent already because I'm not mad, I'm just really fucking disappointed.
